If I were king, Dream would have drafted Thomas instead of Wallace.

You can’t complain. You got an active Billings for inactive Holmes. Now Connecticut is giving her maternity pay. This might top MIN for dopiest off season move.

So many headlines...
Shot to the Hart!
Hart ripped out of the Dream!
Alexa, remind me to tell Ms Hart she's been cut. |

I like Dietrick but I'm surprised she made it.
I wouldn't be surprised if they pick up waiver player instead, once the better players get waived.

root_thing did an interesting comparison of Liberty last year v. this year in another thread. I decided now that we are 10 games in it would be a good time to do the same thing for the Dream. The usual small sample size caveats apply.
My overall impression is that the team is better and playing better than last year. However, it is pretty clear that in many categories the Dream are still not playing very well. This table compares the net difference between Dream and opponents last year minus this year. In most cases a positive number means the Dream have improved relative to opponents while a negative means the reverse. For example, last year Dream were outscored by opponents by 3.8 points per game. This year we are still being outscored but only by .9 ppg for an improvement of 2.9 as shown below.
Overall, it is clear that the Dream have improved most on the defensive end of the court. The Dream still have deficits relative to most opponents in many categories including points, rebounds, assists, shooting percentages. However, they have improved in a lot of categories - mainly defensive and have narrowed the gap in the areas of deficit. The Dream are shooting even worse than last year, but have managed to drag down the opponents FG% by even more. Rebounding is one area where the Dream are at a bigger deficit than in the past, however.
My main conclusion is that the coaching and staff changes have improved the team most on the defensive end, while a number of offensive categories have gotten worse but improved defense has more than compensated. Hopefully, as the team moves forward the new offensive schemes will become more effective and play on both ends of the court will get better.
Net Change
2018-2017
PPG 2.9
OREB -0.5
DREB -1.4
RPG -1.9
APG -0.6
SPG 1.9
BPG 0.1
FG% 1.3
3P% 0.9
FT% 3.1
TO -3.1
PF 1.7
