transfers to Stanford are just about impossible. Plus we have no scholies.

Plus a couple of shooters ahead of her, if only they could play defense Wink

If Stanford has recruited a player out of high school (which means the player got through admissions and was offered a scholarship), that player could transfer to Stanford without a problem. See Smith, Brooke.

I loved watching Brooke Smith. She had the best array of traditional back-to-the-basket scoring moves I've ever seen in FBB. It was like being back in the Truman era.

If a tall, athletic, pogo-stick post player today could master Smith's back-to-the-basket footwork, plus acquire the most unstoppable shot ever invented but now completely dead -- the full, high knee hook shot -- she would be All-Galaxy.

The writings were on the wall. She was a nice big body for the team though.

That one makes me sad. She was an integral part of the team. Too bad. And I'm surprised she didn't transfer to one of the California teams.

She's from Reno, Nevada. Why California, versus the other Pac-12 states?

Her cousin played in the Bay Area - I think San Jose State - so I was thinking of a WCC team down thataway. Like I could see her do really well at St. Marys. Reno is just a hop skip and a jump from the Bay Area...but still far enough away to not be right under the parents' noses. But who knows what her thought process was. To each her own. I wish her well. It certainly seems we've come into the age of massive transfers.

Boise State did tie for first in the conference and played in the NCAA tournament. That may have been a factor as well. Playing teams close to home and being on a winning team may have been the determining factors.

So many possibilities, could be a guy. Don’t read anything in to that, just throwing out an example.

Do the coaches generally want the transfer players on campus for the summer sessions? Many semesters start next week but quarters start in June.

I know a few schools that offer multiple sessions of summer school, so it's probably not important to be at the first one, but I'd imagine they would want them to be on campus at some point during the summer for workouts, unless there are reasons they can't, like finishing classes at the other school, previous summer commitments like maybe playing with their national team or an internship.

For my daughter‘s team, the freshman and sophomores have to be there for the first week of June to help with the youngest camp. The other girls have to be there by the second week in June when school starts, and to assist with summer camps for older youth and high school, for elite camp and team camp. Her freshman year, at her former school, she had to report to campus before she even graduated high school. She then had to fly back home the next week to graduate, and turn around and fly right back down to school.

Okay. So I don't do twitter, etc. This is Old News, right? However was this well-known? How long ago did Bianca bail? And where is she going?

Vic gets his "aircraft carrier" for when MCCowan leaves. Taylor was a member of the all frosh- team and averaged over 8 points, 6 boards, and 2 blocks per game.

Vic already has two "aircraft carriers" in his 2018 class. Both, plus Taylor will be sophs in 2019. Interesting times.

BTW, Mississippi State is now out of scholies, meaning Howard is out, possibly destined for South Carolina.

ETA: Raoul notes that there's suggestion that Mississippi State could still land Howard, meaning at least one player would have to leave. It seems very late for this development but the odd player might be Zion Campbell.
