So the team with an "A list" draft is reduced one draftee, who didn't start on her college team.

There goes 2/3 of the 2018 draft class.

Saving a spot for Plaisance may have ultimately hurt Goodwin. If a team has room for a third PG, she might be worth trying to develop. Fred described her as pro-ready. That might be a bit exuberant since not even Diggins or Vandersloot we’re pro-ready. They both needed time.

Updating my Dallas depth chart
Diggins/Chong
AGray/Powers/Davis
Christmas-Kelly/Thornton
GJohnson/Stevens/Plaisance(when healthy)
Cambage/(Hamblin vs Lewis)

With the possibility of Shaq bumping off somebody for a spot.

Damn Sad the W is a cutthroat business

i thought Goodwin would make the team, i guess she didn't impress the coaches in preseason and training camp

you thought she would beat out Chong? It's very tough for a first year PG to beat out someone experienced. My guess - it still wasn't the easiest of cuts and if she isn't picked up somewhere else, they would probably bring her back if they got hit by injury.

yeah i thought she would but you right its tough for a rookie to make the team, maybe in the future hopefully she will get another chance with experience overseas.

Didn't start on her second college team. Started on her first and was All-ACC, led the league in rebounds, and was second in points.

And kicked major ass in her first preseason game!

Why would they schedule a meaningless preseason game on mother's day?...Just idiotic.

They often schedule a regular season game on Father's day and call it Dad's and Daughter's game.

The game is only a few hours. Still leaves time to celebrate with mom at brunch or dinner is probably how the look at it. Or if mom is in a different area, traveling to see her may be reserved for other holidays and birthdays.

If this was a regular season game that would be ideal . But imagine taking your mom and shes never been to a WNBA game nor is she a fan (Example) giong to a pre-season game would not be much fun to her. Glad my mom has been a fan since Day 1 , mainly due to Swoopes. My Mom and I are normally at wings games together all season so this would not be that special anymore.

Get real they were only rated that high because Stevens fell to then and NO ONE thought that was possible.

Inside the sisterly bond that reunited Liz Cambage and Erin Phillips with the Dallas Wings
Quote:
In their Czech hotels, they both tried to adjust to each other's habits. Phillips had to learn to sleep through Cambage's late nights, while the former's energy could wear on the latter.
"She's very active, and I'm quite the opposite," Cambage said. "A good annoying. She still takes her footy with her everywhere she goes and I remember her trying to get me out of bed to kick the footy. She's so active and I'm just a big old panda."

Curt Miller said that the Wings were the highest scoring team in the league last year, with the Sun second.

Akhator and Hamblin waived

Thought they'd give Akhator another year at least, but kudos on essentially admitting to making a huge mistake.

And on a pure 'points scored' basis, that's true. It'd be pretty ridiculous to use as your main offensive metric these days, but it's still technically true.

Williams is great at drafting lottery picks. He trades away one after one season and waives another lottery pick after one season. Freddie's dread. That's what I said.

So the Wings are the first team to set their roster?

PG: Diggins/Chong
SG: Gray/Davis
SF: Christmas/Powers/Thornton
PF: Johnson/Stevens
C: Cambage/Lewis/Plaisance

2017 #3 draft pick Akhator? Question

I'm sure someone will take a chance on that...

Just goes to show how stacked DAL is this season... Idea

Wow! On paper, the Wings look like the team to beat with the freshest legs. With as much ups and mostly downs the franchise has had in the past decade, I truly wish them luck this year and I can see at least a semi-final finish in the playoffs this year.

So is Akhator the biggest lottery pick bust?

Now if Curt Miller had any inkling of intregrity, he’d drop George, who only cost him a #21 pick (could have had Russell or Musina), and pick up Shaqhator, who he claimed was a clear Top 8 pick in 2017 and publicly disparaged anyone who thought otherwise (just about everybody).

Then if he wanted to keep Laney, he’d have to drop BJones.

Curt Miller better grab a tissue box because he has some tough decisions to make. But now that he’s starting his third year, maybe he’s getting more used to the tough decisions.
