Why would she ever consider it when she has a great gig with ESPN.

She worked her ass off for 1-2 years to come back from injury. I doubt that she does that just to play 1 more season..

Wouldn’t she work out hard whether or not she was a WNBA player? She’s still young. This new expanded role just happened recently so priorities could change.

She stayed in Connecticut and trained with Sun staff so yes i think being a wnba player is important for her and to stay connected even when injured

I agree - she can make $100 k per year playing the summer (with other perks as well) and make ESPN money (whatever that is) the rest of the year. Plus, being a current WNBA player (and potentially a star) can only help her credibility as an analyst. Why wouldn't she want to keep playing?

She got a mention at the start of the most recent Hoop Collective podcast - the producer said it was the first time he'd ever had one of the analysts/experts/reporters/whatever say they couldn't record at a certain time due to playing in a preseason game. |

She wouldn't need to be in WNBA game ready shape if she wasn't a WNBA player. I'm sure she would still workout, but I'd guess the types of workouts and the kind of shape she would strive for would be different.

Based on their preseason games, I see George as their final cut unless they cut Laney and keep George.
PG: JThomas/Brown
SG: Williams/Bentley/Banham
SF: Stricklen/Laney
PF: AThomas/Tuck
C: JJones/Ogwumike/BJones

Now's Curt's chance to pick up Akhator and prove all us basement dwellers wrong.

The Sun’s final roster has been finalized
Jasmine Thomas/Lexie Brown
Courtney Williams/Alex Bentley/Rachel Banhan
Shekinna Stricklen/Betnijah Laney
Alyssa Thomas/Morgan Tuck
Jonquel Jones/Chiney Ogwumike/Brionna Jones
Miller is saying Jonquel Jones should be here in time for the season opener, and if not, by the Sun’s 2nd game for sure.

So Laney makes the final cut over George. Miller going small at OF with A Thomas and Tuck.

I'm pretty sure that's Ay Mate's depth chart, not an official one.
The player names would be correct though.

Agree. Expect to see Chiney playing the 4, and possibly even starting with Thomas and Jones.

A. Thomas as a playmaking power forward was one of the main reasons for the Sun's success last year. Putting her back at the three could complicate the offense, as it means two players in the lineup do not have to be defended for outside/three point shots (as opposed to only one - A. Thomas - last year).

You can start A. Thomas and J. Jones and bring C. Ogwumike of the bench at the 4 and the 5 with all three getting around 25 minutes a night with B. Jones and Tuck filling in when needed.

I think they'd be wise to keep Thomas at the 4. They're much easier to defend when Thomas plays the 3.

I don't remember how successful it was, but they also tried to play Tuck some at SF. She can at least shoot. I'm guessing A. Thomas will play some at SF and some at PF depending on matchups.

35% FGs and 28% 3FGs. Those numbers suggest Tuck should be on the wing for a short period of time._________________

JJ missing most of training camp while Chiney is there. So i dont know if its a good idea to not start Chiney for the first couple of games.
Tbh the best chance of Sun ever winning a championship is that A Thomas works on her midrange and 3pointshot instead of 'hiding' her at the PF spot
and then have her start with Chiney and JJ.
