Wilson will probably start. Can't say anyone else might. Maybe Mitchell, DeShields or Williams?

I think with the depth of this draft, it's possible for a surprise or two to be competing for this ROY award. Aces' Park has been getting some praise from their camp. If she can get minutes, maybe she enters the conversation? Also thinking Stevens in Dallas will get solid minutes at both the 4 & 5 with Plaisance out.

It will almost certainly go to the player with the highest scoring average.

It's gone that way 75% of the time but the trend is weakening. Two of the last four did not go to the highest scoring rookie and one of those that did was a very close vote.

True, though Gray and Sykes were very close in scoring. I suppose bets are off at that point.

We could also say that it will almost certainly be Wilson, since the No. 1 pick has won 8 of the last 10 years.

I don't think she'll win it, but I'm guessing Vivians will be getting adequate minutes with Coleman gone and Shenise on the mend. What Pokey is doing this offseason suggests she's all-in on the rebuild.

Coates is a daring choice for All Rookie, but I suppose it could happen if she makes it to starter. If she does make it to starter, I say CHI is lottery bound.

Gabby is signed with Wasserman, and you’ve seen how they get if their client isn’t starting.

I’ll make the bold early call that Park will be the most prominent international (no college) rookie of the year.

I’m going with Gabby. I think she’s be a starter at the 3 or 4 and get minutes at position 2 thru 4.

I think it would be quite hard at this time to guess who will win ROY. Some adjust quickly and others take some time to do so. Since we haven't seen any of them play yet I will hold my guess until after the season starts.

Not necessarily, there's way more to the game of basketball than points scored. It takes all around talent. Many of the past winners may have had the highest scoring average but that was not the only criteria measured.

It may not be the only criteria measured but its def the deciding factor.

Not all of those were obvious winners, and at least one wasn't the highest scoring rookie in their ROY season

Reaching for straws?

The subject of discussion was points scored decide the ROY. No, it's the overall performance. Why would it just be points scored? Makes no sense.

If it was just points scored then why even have a vote?

So they have the option of screwing over the lower draft pick (Sykes).

Or Praising the entire body of work for the higher draft pick (Gray)
