Razz ...It doesn't matter who gets traded/Cut between Nared/Coffey because I like the upside of both players...Another possible SF cut who I'm very high on is A.Prince...I'm tired of seeing young WNBA talent riding the bench.

Nared was the 13th pick in a deep draft. She has some trade value.

It was a deep draft, but teams weren’t treating it as such because rosters are full. All you have to do is look at ATL picking Kristy Wallace at #16. A middling team like ATL who didn’t even have a first round pick took a deferral pick at #16. I think they jumped the gun a bit on that one. They could have auditioned some decent talent at that pick, but that was the mentality in this draft. I gotta jump on that deferral pick before you do.
Look at Minnesota. They traded away Howard to get that #17 pick, but all they ended up doing with it is helping Laimbeer land Park and deferring the pick until 2019. Going off in a little rant here. Now Reeve has to hope Park, Musina, and Russell are disasters while Fagbenle and Miyem are beasts.

Plum/Jefferson
McBride/Colson (also playing some PG)
Young
Wilson/Harrison
Bone/Swords

2 from this list (perimeter)-Holmes, Lawrence, Nared, Gemolos, M. Williams Coffey, Hamby, Burdick (if the last 3 can qualify as BL type SFs)

1 from this list (5th post)-Park, Coffey, Hamby, Burdick

Nared has a pretty good shot because she can play the 3 or the 2

Bill trading for Park and having her come over makes her a near lock in my book.

except he may have traded for her thinking she would be deferred so now he will have some tougher decisions to make. Can he afford to keep a total project on his bench? maybe...

I don’t think so. There was a predraft article from the Lynx where Reeve said most of the internationals wanted to come over right away, so they weren’t that good for deferral picks. So if Reeve was aware of that, I’m sure Laimbeer was also aware.

Korean Basketball Player Aims for Opening Day Start for Las Vegas Aces

http://english.chosun.com/m/svc/article.html?contid=2018042400940

Quote:
Before flying to the U.S. last week to join in her team's training camp, Park said, "My primary goal is to make the roster for the opening game. I want to make a good impression so that I can play in the WNBA for years -- at least five to seven years."

Once included in the 12-woman roster which is set to be finalized by mid-May, Park will compete in regular league games until August.

The WNBA seems to have become a desirable destination for internationals.

...for SOME internationals. It would be nice to see more European stars wanting to come over too.

Yeah, at the time I thought the trade was an investment in the future, so it will be interesting to see how it shakes out. If he keeps Park I see the back up SF being more of a 3/4 tweener who can play some pf in a pinch instead of a 2/3 who can slide to the sg spot

Now I've got

Plum/Jefferson/Colson
McBride/Nared
Young/Burdick
Wilson/Harrison
Bone/Swords/Park

with Coffey, Hamby, Holmes and Lawrence trying to knock Burdick or Nared out of the roster above

All the internationals who were drafted this year are coming over right away, except for the Czech that LAS drafted. She has an injury.

Has to be a positive sign that the initial 15-player list includes Jefferson. Suggests she's at least somewhere close to being healthy.

Looks like Park's DOB is wrong. I'm guessing they meant 1998.

Or it could just mean mean her presence as the future floor general amongst a group of 11 rookies and newcomers was seen as more valuable than adding another schlub invite.

He projected her to miss 3 weeks a long time ago. I wonder how accurate that can be or are they going to make her sit a set amount of time no matter how she’s feeling.

I thought Sequoia Holmes’ dob looked suspect but I guess she really is that old. Maybe that’ll work in her favor amongst this Young group.

Holmes has been in and out of the league since 2008. With Ajavon apparently done, she's one of three remaining ex-Comets.

Comets? She’s kinda like Ashley Shields then, except she’s managed to somehow survive in the WNBA.

I wondered who Johnson was. It's the token local kid which is nice.

No more angst about how Harrison fits with any team.

“Personal medical reasons” covers a wide spectrum.

I shouldn't, but I always assume this means Jia Perkins Syndrome.

Hamby takes a sigh of relief.
