Gulich here could be a great pickup. PHX running the ball down your throat days have passed.

definitely see them drafting a center at #12(Gulich likely). Angel Robinson was never re-signed.

PG: January/Mitchell
SG: Taurasi/Turner
SF: Bonner/Talbot
PF: Little/Lyttle/Cannon
C: Griner/draft pick
Last spot: Harden or Prince

At a season ticket holder event last week, Mercury GM Jim Pitman included Angel in a discussion of returning players.

Did they already sign her or they are thinking about it? They haven’t put out anything official about it that I can see.

Hey no one did post draft PX

January/L. Mithcell
DT/Turner
Bonner/Talbot/Prince
Lyttle/Little/Cannon
Griner/Gulich

What happened to A. Robinson? Did she want to take time off? Did PX pass on her? Does that make her a free agent instead of reserved?

January/LMitchell
Taurasi/Turner/(Scaife vs Harden vs Prince)
Bonner/Talbot
Lyttle/Little/Cannon
Griner/(Gulich vs Musina)

Musina said she didn’t want to be a deferred pick. We’ll see how that works out.

*Curry was traded and Angel will be late to camp.

Suspect Guliitch gets a spot and the rest battle for the last spot.

Musina seems like she's showing up. So that 5th post spot is between her, Robinson & Cannon. No clear back-up SF locked in. Scaife has a solid chance of making the team.

The consensus seems to be that 3 spots are up for grabs. I’d like to see Scaife make the roster, along with Talbot. As for the third spot, I’m not sure.

In my position battles, who do you like the most?
It could also be Cannon vs Musina, but I think Musina stands a better chance against another rookie in Gulich.

January/LMitchell
Taurasi/Turner/(Scaife vs Harden vs Prince)
Bonner/Talbot
Lyttle/Little/Cannon
Griner/(Gulich vs Musina)

I thought Mitchell earned the starting spot last year, but PHX paid a lot for January and everyone seems hyped on her to start.

Prince is doing pretty well overseas, leading scorer for her club in Spain. An old fav of myrtle’s is also doing well.

I like Harden’s defense, but it will be interesting to see how she looks after coming back. I like the size of Prince and her reputation as a shooter. Scaife, I watched a bit in college in her early years, but I’m not sure we need another small guard.

I, personally, wasn’t high on Cannon. I’d be fine with Gulich and Musina making the team over her.

yeah, Cannon was a bit wild last season and really only saw minutes by default. I'm thinking Gulich & Musina make the team. Musina can also play PF if needed.

PG: January/Mitchell
SG: Taurasi/Turner/Scaife
SF: Bonner/Talbot
PF: Lyttle/Little
C: Griner/Gulich/Musina

Cannon didn’t get a lot of time when Griner was playing, but seemed decent when Griner went down and she got more PT. I see she got 17 pts in 38 min in one game.

Musina's a 19 year old 3/4 who plays questionable defense in zone-legal leagues. She's not gonna be playing center.

Cannon brought a lot more to the table than you think. She rebounded well and showed a lot of toughness which is what the Mercury needed and still what they will need. They would not have went out of their way to resign her if they anticipated not having her for the upcoming season. Keep in mind that Gulich and Musina are rookies. They may keep Gulich because of her size and cheap salary. Also, don't forget that they still have Robinson.

Haven’t seen a lot of Scaife. Does she bring to the table the same thing as Turner?

No way she’s as good as Turner. You can watch Turner in the Euroleague Championship game coming up in an hour.

Looking at our roster, I can't help but wish these trades had taken place in 2011. We have acquired players that have, perennially, been thorns in our side in January, Little, and Lyttle. It will be interesting to see how much gas they have left in the tank, especially the two Li/yttles. At PG anyone over 5'5 who can shoot outside ten feet is an upgrade over D-Rob

Ouch! Reeve gave up a first round pick for her, and traded Howard because of her and Zanda’s combined salaries. On top of that, might have to start the season with only 11 players. All this for a player PHX and their fans couldn’t get rid of quickly enough.

Milly has been with the merc prior to this season . Lyttle & January are the new editions .

That’s true. I meant the decision to keep her after a less than impressive stint last year.
