Which team do you think got the player who could easily look like a top 3 or even 5 pick, three years from now?

Dallas with Stevens. I think a few teams will regret passing on her.

What do you guys think about the Sparks first round pick? It reminds of me when Van Chancellor use to selection European players knowing that he could gamble with Cynthia, Tina and Sheryl on his roster. I figured she would go to a good team who don't need her service immediately.

Russell at #22 if you’re looking at value.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen Liberty fans so intrigued by a bottom second round pick.

I forgot about Vadeeva. I think she will be a good player for LA and could help to defend Fowles.

Picks are very relative to what the clubs find out behind the scenes about certain players. Some find out how a player has trouble following directions. This makes it very difficult for any coach as they have to be able to have players who can pick up scouts on the fly with little turn around for games and such a short season.

Nared may surprise people, and while I don't think she's going to look like a Top 3 pick, I think Goodwin can be a lot better than an 18-pick.

Maybe in a few years but certainly not now

I am more than a little intrigued with Maria and her potential. I rarely scout players collegiately and even less internationally these days. However, I love the energy and seemingly fundamentally solid play I have seen from her in highlight videos. It would be sweet to see how well such a talented youngster can develop under the tutelage of Brian over the years . . . assuming she stays and he continues to want her around.

With Alana approaching retirement, it will be interesting to see who emerges as her heir apparent for future play. Will Sydney 'Syd the Kid' Weise continue to grow and develop for the Ladies of LaLa? Can Shakayla Thomas make a dent in the stacked LA lineup?

I still don't get the disdain people have for Gabbs. She's a poor woman's Catchings! Let's not forget people harped on Catch for not being a good shooter, but she developed that part of her game. If you had all of the draftees play one on one, I'd be willing to bet Gabby would be in the top 3 and that's going against the bigs. For instance, how will Aja guard Parker and the best players in the world? How we she score on such players. People are stuck on height and positions, but forget that many players have proved those to be an anomaly.

This is a thread about “steals”. Gabby at #4 represents fair value unless you think she’s gonna go on to win ROY. I wonder how DeShields would respond to Gabby having a ROY type season.

A’ja vs whoever else might be a rookie starter.
