+1 they are kind of the same player , but Lawrence is a bit better at creating her own shot .

Holmes is 5" taller and a lot heavier....for better or worse.

Holmes is bigger, but she doesn't play bigger.

Will Moriah Jefferson be 100% at season's start? (Apologies if this has been discussed ...)

It seems to me that two solid bench players -- Tamera Young and Isabelle Harrison -- are starters, and that does not bode well. (Yes, Young has been a starter but a borderline one, and she's definitely on the downward side of her career.)

I think the intent is to start Wilson at 4 and Bone at 5. Bill made a point of mentioning they wanted to get more physical in the middle and Bone will do that even if she is shorter than some WNBA posts.

He also said in an earlier podcast that Jefferson would not be ready to start the season but that was awhile back. Not sure if anything could have changed but I doubt it.

Ji-Su Park has signed her rookie contract according to WNBA.com's Transactions page, which is somewhat unusual for random foreign later-round picks. Suggests she might be showing up as well. It'd be cool if this started becoming a more legitimately global league again.

Well the #17 pick isn't that late? Maybe the Aces dump Hamby and keep Park?

PG: Jefferson/Plum
SG: McBride/Holmes
SF: Young/Nared
PF: Wilson/Harrison
C: Bone/Swords/Park
12th: Holmes, Lawrence or William.

I think having 16 or more teams (counting the ABL) for 5 years helped a lot in foreigners making teams. As it stands now, foreign players are almost exclusively at or below the kind that people say they will dislike watching if the league were to expand by even one team.

Plum/Colson/Jefferson(until 100%)
McBride/Holmes/
Young/Nared
Wilson/Harrison
Bone/Swords/(Park vs Hamby)

Laimbeer liked collecting centers at NYL, so it wouldn’t shock me if he went for Park. I suppose Swords could get bumped if she craps out.

She's against Nared & Holmes for a spot. Nared adds more and Holmes proved her spot last season.

What exactly did shooting 34% from the field with a PER of 9.5 prove? That she's still as bad as in her previous stints nearly a decade earlier?

I have no clue neither....Bill looking to rewrite all the past mistakes Coffee in the top 10 last year and already on her way out. Maybe Thibault picks her up? I cant imagine bill cutting hamby in favor of park. Hamby might be this teams most physical player as their roster suggests thats the ideal player bill looks for. Physicality!

Still on the website roster and no mention of being waived or traded on the transactions page.

Coffey a 4 in college and seems to still see herself as that, but should be a 3 in the pros. But she apparently has no 3-point shot - attempted 0 in 2017.

Apparently no one knows Jefferson's status ... that will determine a lot in Vegas.

Yeah, I haven't paid really any attention to Nared so I can't comment on how she was in college or how pro ready she is but people seem to think she was good value in the 2nd round and can replace Coffey. Can Nared play SG?

Nared can play SG as long as you want a SG who can't shoot. omg I just had this vision of a lineup that had Nared, Young, and Hamby on the floor all at once. That's the lineup to play if you want in the lottery next year!

People are projecting she won’t make the final roster. I expect she’ll get another opportunity at training camp.

Sounds Familiar with someone in this draft .

Why are you bringing the #23 pick Shakayla Thomas into this convo? Wink
