Has everyone already forgotten the Illinois debacle? I know we are a few years removed, but good lord almighty, that was painful.

Somewhat OT, but here’s the story behind Boyle’s decision to retire...working to finalize the adoption of her daughter. Wish her all the best...hope it’s resolved soon. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/immigration/she-coached-her-team-to-the-ncaa-tournament-then-she-quit-for-her-daughter/2018/03/28/6d132182-3134-11e8-8bdd-cdb33a5eef83_story.html?utm_term=.e69d510e7f27

Kudos to her for putting family first! I have an adopted child and although our situation was not this dramatic, the whole process disrupts your life! People have (sometimes unplanned or even unwanted) kids all the time and no one questions their fitness or what they should do with the kid(s) if they don't want them. The adoption process was invasive and emotional. I wish her all the best!

I'm really afraid the government is going to cause her all kinds of problems because of where Ngoty is from and because she overstayed her tourist visa and because the senator who's sponsoring her (warner) is pretty much on 45's "enemies list". I hope not.

I hope it works out as well, but there are laws that have to be followed in adopting children from foreign countries. I have no doubts this could be a drawn out adoption due to things not being followed according to the law. However, maybe due to her position she may know somebody in a position to help her and get this done quicker than some of us would be able to do.

The chatter on the Virginia front is very quiet. This is a big job! Lots of HS talent in that area.

Seems like a pretty good hire. I noticed in the article that the NCAA D-II player of the year was only a sophomore at her previous school. I wonder if we will hear of a new transfer in a couple of weeks.

That's a really great hire. She's a damn good coach and recruiter.

How far down on the “available” list will Texas Tech have to go to find a coach?

At this rate they might have to consider some women...

So are what they are saying is that they approached the assistant coaches of UCONN and Notre Dame and ALL these women said no to the job. I bet if they did they offered them some peanuts lowball salary Evil or Very Mad

Just because they were assistant coaches at top programs doesn't mean they will make good head coaches. The list of failures is, quite honestly, too lengthy to list but just take a look at Cincinnati and Penn State for starters. The head coaching highway is littered with former top assistant coaches that flamed out as head coaches, male and female alike.
