And Ionescu got away with a hook on Ogunbowale.

Shepard is a genius at rebounding from behind a player.

"Hope defense" is working for Oregon. Just hope they miss.

Shepard is also a genius at throwing her body into a defender, knocking them back a step, and scoring without drawing a foul.

Very true.

Oregon played a whiff of defense in the 2Q and it made a difference.

That should have been an offensive foul on Shepard. She put her shoulder into a stationary Hebards gut moving her out before going up for the shot. Refs are really bad about those kind of plays. They seem to let offensive player get away with initiating contact, but this was really too obvious.

If Hebard gets in foul trouble the might have to put the German on Shepard.

N Dame's bench is outscoring Oregon's 2-0.

I can't believe you can't stop Westbeld -- she's so slow with no hops. Yet she gets the ball unimpeded all the time.

Satou is not helping in the lane and she is nominally playing the 4. Hebard is not supposed to play off Shepard, so Westbelt is continuously wide open.

They have McGwire for a big body backup.

14 of 17 ND baskets were assisted (82%).

7 of 20 Oregon baskets were assisted (35%).

ND needs to stop their dribblers. Oregon only has 4 o-boards, so that's not too bad.

Just making up for when they didn't call Ionescu on the hook to get herself around Arike.

I'd just keep running Shepard up and down the court. The only way she gets back on defense is by giving up on offense boards and releasing as soon as a shot goes up. If ND needs her to offensive rebound Oregon should be able to get inside before she can get back on defense. She played 38 minutes vs TAMU.

But this game will come down to who can score the most. Neither team will get players on any all-defensive teams. If ND gets hot from outside they can beat anyone.

Muffet out-halftimed Kelly.

Zero defense games are annoying to watch.

Prefer this very much to those 52-49 final score sec games.

Ugh c'mon Oregon. It's going to be harder for them to come from behind than Notre Dame.

Oregon seems to be going a bit cold.
Someone else needs to step up.

Graves is brain dead to leave that giant hole in the middle of his defense. I'll take Rueck over him. Rueck can teach better team defense than Graves with lesser players. Plus, I don't like a dribble-dribble-dribble offense. I like pass-pass-pass. Slice 'em up, Muffet.

If anything it's a foul on Mabrey for gabbing Ionescu's arm as she ran by.

Graves needs to hire a defensive specialist coach.
