Well, if he kept it up I would actually have to start letting my avatar count up. But, alas, I'm sure he will be right back at it tomorrow.

All in all it is kind of depressing when we get a tiny glimpse of the president he could have been if his narcissism hadn't gotten in the way.

Trump has gone rogue on guns in on-camera meeting.

Trump: It doesn't make sense that I have to wait until I'm 21 to get a handgun but I can get this (assault) weapon at 18. I don't know. So I'm just curious as to what you did in your bill.

(pause)

Trump: You don't know the answer?

Senator Pat Toomey: We didn't address it Mr. President

Trump: You know why? Because you're afraid of the NRA, right?

CNN is reporting that Trump said that multiple times. Senator John Cornyn has called this meeting 'surreal.' Democrats, according to CNN, sat through this meeting for an hour hearing Trump basically "all but endorse several of their proposals which do not have majority support from Republicans." Dems are trying to figure out whether this is Tuesday Trump (think DACA) talking and whether in 48 hours we will get Thursday Trump (think DACA).

Republicans are furious both over the 'afraid of the NRA' comment but also over this thing called the 'Gun Violence Restraining Order' which VP Mike Pence was trying to explain this fairly self-explanatory thing to our stupid dolt of a president to which Trump allegedly responded 'Do do diligence later. Take the guns first." Shocked

Someone said on one of the cable shows that Trump had been all-in with the Democrats on one of the illegal alien issues recently, and then a week later he wasn't. So he said to wait a week before taking this as Trump's position.

Pretty sure that is what jammer was referring to with Tuesday Trump vs. Thursday Trump.

I think Trump agrees with gun control. Like, I think that's actually a policy decision he agrees with. Even during the campaign, his speech at the NRA convention suggested as much.

And I'd also say, it's likely that Ivanka doesn't like guns..and they've measured the popularity here. Most (And by most, I mean over 90%) of Americans want some sort of restrictions. (Unfortunately for Donnie, that 10% is likely in his fanbase).

And finally, I would also think..that Donald understands what being "The President to stop the mass shootings" would mean. We have an epidemic. Gutting legislation passed, and having something this big happen under him..that would be a big deal.

And the NRA were fools to think he'd be loyal. No matter how much money he was given. Nah. Russia has more than money on Donald. That's the only reason he's been loyal there.

OF course, that all being said..Mitch, Pence, and Ryan aren't going to allow any gun control measures because they are loyal to their financial backers. And Jammer needs to not kid himself. Donald hasn't ever gotten a chance to run the government. Those three assholes are running shit, while Kelly and Maddog are taking turns babysitting..making sure he doesn't press the red nuclear button.

So much talk... so many demands for a change in our laws... so many people saying this or that about the President...

Well President Trump has already said that he would sign this bill:
https://democrats-judiciary.house.gov/legislation/markups/hr-38-concealed-carry-reciprocity-act-2017-hr-fix-nics-act-2017-and-hr-2666

It would expand background checks to keep guns out of the wrong hands, as well as keep innocent people out of jail for crimes they didn't commit (for example, getting arrested on a technicality). It's been on the Senate floor since last year. Want change? Call your senators because nobody that matters is reading this thread.

Awesome video discussion. And while I kind of 'get' Cal's initial reaction, I'm sure he now comprehends that her hair is part of why her message is so well-received: people whose hackles might be raised by her "skinhead lesbian" ( Rolling Eyes ) look realize that her unique appearance only enhances her eloquent ideas and insights. AND, it all has motivated a woman to now oppose the idiotic Republican who thought his candidacy was gonna run uncontested. Great stuff!

Rick Santorum to Parkland students: Learn CPR instead of protesting for 'phony gun laws'

Quote:
"How about kids instead of looking to someone else to solve their problem, do something about maybe taking CPR classes or trying to deal with situations that when there is a violent shooter that you can actually respond to that," the Republican said on CNN's "State of the Union."

The 2012 and 2016 presidential candidate said students could work to stop bullying in their communities or respond themselves to a shooter instead of asking lawmakers to approve legislation to protect them.

NRA host taunts Parkland teens: ‘No one would know your names’ if classmates were still alive

Quote:
“To all the kids from Parkland getting ready to use your First Amendment to attack everyone else’s Second Amendment at your march on Saturday, I wish a hero like Blaine Gaskill had been at Marjory Douglas High School last month because your classmates would still be alive and no one would know your names, because the media would have completely and utterly ignored your story, the way they ignored his,” Noir said.

Quote:
“They’re running Season 5 of their gun-control reality show, featuring the freshest cast of characters yet in their modern march on Washington — except this time for less freedom,” he said. “These kids ought to be marching against their own hypocritical belief structure.”

Killer Mike: Rapper defends gun ownership in NRA video

Quote:
He also says he actively discouraged his children from taking part in the national student walkouts against gun violence.

"I told my kids on the school walkout, I love you, (but) if you walk out that school, walk out my house," he said.

Killer Mike apologizes for NRA video

Quote:
Killer Mike said in the video he posted on social media Sunday that he supports the youth-driven gun control movement.

"I'm sorry that an interview I did about a minority, black people in this country, and gun rights was used as a weapon against you guys," he said.

"That was unfair to you and it was wrong, and it disparaged some very noble work you're doing."

The rapper said in the NRA video that he has worked with groups from both sides of the gun control issue and "tries to see a problem from the whole perspective."

Yeah right.

NRA saw spike in donations following Parkland shooting
Quote:
The National Rifle Association (NRA) benefitted from a spike in donations following the deadly shooting last month at a Parkland, Fla., high school.

Federal Election Commission filings showed the organization’s Political Victory Fund garnered slightly less than $248,000 in donations in January. In February, that figure more than tripled to $779,062.

The February totals show a sharp increase in the same month when the NRA faced intense criticism following the Feb. 14 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which left 17 people dead.
