I’m so elated for for Sue. I was a semi-regular Michigan WBB fan until Sue took over in 96. Michigan was so poor administering the program that they got rid of Trish Roberts late in the summer. Sue begged to take the job, and they’d only hire her as an interim (she’d been Michigan State’s 1st asssistant). IIRC, she worked at U-M on a year to year basis for seven seasons never getting a contract.

Sue’s enthusiasm sold me on WBB. I rarely missed a game. Her first year at U-M I started going to the B1G tourney, and I’ve only missed one since.

I ran the booster club for Sue. I was so disheartened when she got fired...maybe rightly so, as she seemed to have lost her team. She’ll be the first to tell you about how happy she was to have CMU give a “recycled” old coach another chance.

Even money, methinks. Does he have *any* underclass talent?

Interesting. He and his former longtime assistant Neighbors would be regularly facing off.

Part of the reason McGuff left for Ohio St, though, was because his extended family is in the area and he has at least six young kids.

During one of the sessions at the Pac-12 tourney last year, his agent sat in front of us. The agent said his firm represented many of the Pac-12 coaches (though he was quick to mention that Cooper-Dyke wasn't one of them). When I told him a lot of us weren't too surprised that McGuff wanted to return to the state of Ohio to be closer to family, the agent smiled and said, "Yes, he wanted to return to Ohio, but only if the price was right."

I don't wish McGuff or Neighbors any ill whatsoever. I think they had a good thing going while working together, and since they went their separate ways things are more difficult than they thought they would be. Neighbors hasn't proven himself a capable head coach yet, and McGuff has underachieved without Neighbors.

They're actually bringing in a forward from around my area, Aaliyah Patty. But she's uh, not going to replace the production they're losing.

Never expect consistency from teams that rely on one player. The offensive focus on that player take other players out of the offensive flow and when that player is not hot the team loses. Period.

I went to Wisconsin. Any day tOSU loses is a good day.

And y'all can just shut up mentioning McGuff and Tennessee in the same breath. He can go to Ole Miss for all I care. He might learn about playing D in the SEC though....

https://www.thelantern.com/2018/03/womens-basketball-sierra-calhoun-and-makayla-waterman-to-return-to-ohio-state-in-2018-19-with-wildly-different-team/

“Waterman and Calhoun will be joined next season by sophomore guard Jensen Caretti, who averaged 8.7 minutes and 2.4 points in 29 games. A former highly regarded recruit, Caretti will almost assuredly move into a starting role next season despite her lack of experience.

Next year, the Buckeyes will add Najah Queenland, a transfer from Pacific who sat out this season and will be in her fourth collegiate season. In 2016-17, her final season at Pacific, she averaged 4.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 22.1 minutes per game. With Harper, Mitchell and Doss graduating, the 5-foot-10 Queenland could fill the role as a primary ball-handler.

Ohio State will also add a crop of freshmen. It has three 2018 prospects — four-star guard Janai Crooms, three-star post Aaliyah Patty and four-star Hungarian forward Dorka Juhasz — committed to the program. Despite lacking collegiate experience, the trio could have an impact on the team given the graduations.

Redshirt junior guard Chelsea Mitchell, the sister of Kelsey, took the semester off to focus on academics and her status on next season’s team is unclear. Former walk-ons Savitha Jayaraman and Karlie Cronin will return, but neither are expected to have major upticks in their responsibilities.”

That means finish up that degree because your free ride is about to be over.

The dud that wrote that has no clue what is going on. She flunked out and has not been on the team for 2 months. She didn't even come to "senior night" to honor her sister!
