To me, this is really cool. Teams that have zero hopes for the big dance still get post season play in tournament format. Most of us could care less, but for the girls involved it's a big deal. Just think. A team like Nevada or South Alabama could end the season with a championship. Yay!

I was surprised to see this game on my ESPN app as an upcoming game they were going to show. Makes me wonder if the tournament put up money to show it, or if ESPN can make money broadcasting the event. If they go with some D-list announcers/camera/production people, maybe the costs are not that high for 2 to 4 hours work. Or maybe students will do the work for free to get the experience.
