Timberwolves, Lynx CFO Roger Griffith to resign next month

Roger Griffith was the GM who brilliantly assembled the Lynx talent over the years, with the aid of six straight years in the lottery.

Yeah, the lottery is what helped. Even us basement dwellers who didn't believe in the greatness of Evelyn Akhator would've drafted Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore and Brunson via dispersal. Getting the Sidney Spencer pick? and trading for Lindsay Whalen may have been a different story.

He started out rough, particularly with the Katie Smith trade, but right around 2008 starting with the Wiggins-Anosike-Houston draft, he’s been very good to excellent. Very little to complain about that’s not nitpicky. I’ll be VERY nervous now that Reeve no longer has him to lean on. Hopefully she’s absorbed enough this past decade to keep things going.

I'm just going to choose to read this as it is literally written, as I think it is a very accurate statement.
