College of Charleston put the hurt on Hofstra today, 88-72, and will face #2 seed JMU tomorrow at 5pm. Meanwhile, UNCW ground out a win in a low-scoring affair against Towson, 58-47, and gets the honor of going up against #1 Drexel.
The not-so-marquee games feature #5 Delaware battling #4 Northeastern and #6 Wm & Mary facing #3 Elon. Either of these games could produce a spoiler. Actually, any of them could.

The answer to that question is that they are pretty much a one player team. You have a choice—you can try to shut her down, or you can shut everybody else down. Most teams opt for the latter but it doesn’t always work. Today’s scores:
#1 Drexel 71, #8 UNCW 41
#5 Delaware 61, #4 Northeastern 50
#3 Elon 67, #6 Wm & Mary 50
#2 JMU 81, #10 Charleston 66
So tomorrow Drexel plays Delaware, while JMU has to play Elon. Again. We’re 1-1 with them this season.
Basketball photos can be hilarious. The one on the article from the JMU game shows our big girl, Kelly Koshuta, with a firm grip on the ball, her other arm up, and a look on her face that says to the Charleston player guarding her, “Try anything and I’ll fling you across the court!” Meanwhile Kamiah Smalls is coming in from somewhere and two other Charleston players look like they’re try to get the hell outta Dodge

Drexel beats Delaware in Overtime. Delaware had the lead most of the game but couldn't put the home team away. The Dragons are undefeated on their home court all season.
Elon is taking it to James Madison in the second game.
Elon 33-21 with 4 minutes to go in the second quarter. Elon and Drexel are both top 50 RPI teams, but it is unlikely that either team will be able to get an at-large bid.

Elon 76-53 Final
Elon was best team in the CAA in the non-conference but slipped badly at the start of the conference schedule. The rise of the Phoenix promises a great final with the Dragons tomorrow.

Woods out for Drexel, hurt late in the overtime against Delaware yesterday. Dragons shooting only 17% from the floor.
