Marist 29 Quinnipiac 28

Could the Red Foxes pull the upset?

Thanks, Marquette fan, for the information on the Hahn injury. I started the new thread because of the new week.

Not good at all - Danielle King went down with an injury with 5 minutes to go on the half - it didn’t look good Sad. MU holds a slim 18-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.

In what universe is it a smart idea to televise on ESPN Memphis v. Tulane? I guess it's the AAC hangover. "see, we don't just televise UConn games!" Yeah, sure.

UNC still tied with Louisville almost the end of three. And Hines-Allen just got her 4th foul.

DePaul and Villanova are tied at 37 at the half.

Marquette is down 33-30 at the half. But it had been a 7 point Georgetown lead just before the half so nice to see MU finish up the half well. They need to cut down on turnovers. At least King is back in the game for MU.

Quinnipiac 67 Marist 67 End of 1st OT

The Bobcats forced the first OT by getting an offensive rebound off a missed FT with 12 seconds to go by Aryn McClure. The Q then made two FTs to tie the game with 4 secs to go.

Maris fell behind in the OT by 5 but battled back and Rebecca Hand hit a 3 pointer with 16 seconds to go to force the second OT.

Foxes missed a 3, 13.2 left, Q ball and that's it.

Marquette missed a ton of free throws and about gave me a heart attack but they escape with a 71-68 win. DePaul won also so MU remains tied with them for first in the BE. They both finish at St. John’s and Seton Hall next weekend.

JMU hosted UNCW at the Convo Center on “Play for Kay” day and proceeded to beat them up, 63-48. As usual, JMU played everyone except freshman F Bre Ballard, who’s been sidelined with a facial injury and appeared at shoot around in a mask, while the Seahawks played only about 7. Karen Barefoot was dramatic as usual, emoting in the coach’s box and pleading on fouls. Didn’t help, although the refs were incredibly disorganized and had to discuss every third call Rolling Eyes One thing learned—UNCW absolutely cannot crack a zone defense. They don’t play one very well either.

With their win today over Auburn, my Crimson Tide are 7-7 in SEC. Curry was 7-9 her 1st season but had to win 3 of 4 to do it. Moody was 7-7 in 01-02 (WNIT) and 98-99 (last NCAA appearance). If they win the last 2, they will have their first winning conference record in 20 years.

It was close in the first 3 quarters, but Bama pulled away in the 4th. Whew! Now, UGA comes to T-Town, coached by one of my favorite former Bama players. Then LSU in Baton Rouge. Rough stretch to end the season, but come on ladies!

Georgia 49 Alabama 43 Final in OT

Hard to imagine a sloppier game. Alabama was trying to make a late run to impress the Committee with their win over Tennessee, but they came up just short tonight. Georgia got a key offensive rebound to force the OT and the Crimson Tide were outscored 9-3 in the extra frame.

Hard to really buy into Georgia being a top 16 team, but likely gonna happen.

USC is dancing on the bubble. The Trojans were down 4 to Utah and the Utes had the ball with a minute to go. But after a miss by Utah, Minyon Moore brought USC within 2 with 34 seconds to go. Then Kristen Simon hit a 3 pointer with 2 seconds to go for USC to win 53-52. Two more wins, over Colorado on Saturday and Washington St (likely matchup) in the first round of the Pac 12 tourney, should get them in.

Mary Murphy: "Communication is such a big part of UCLA's defensive philosophy."

That's...that's a big part of literally every team's defensive philosophy.

Miami is really a disappointment this year. They just got hammered by GaTech tonight. (Probably a bad choice of words. Every opponent gets "hammered" by GaTech, regardless of the final score. Razz )

JMU ties it with 22.7 to go.

Drexel is only 8-16 from the line
