Gophs lead 53-39 at half. 4 Goldys already in double figures as the three ball is friendly to the home team. With Minnesotas depth at guard (the 4 in double figures) they can run and gun the Beegeezus out of the short Terrapin bench.

Does this win secure them a spot in the NCAA tourney?

The last win did. This one just makes you wonder how high a seed?

Potentially hosting a game if they can make some noise in the conference tournament?

No chance. But you may have knocked out Maryland from a chance at hosting if they don't win the Big 10 Tourney. Most likely for Minnesota right now is a 7 or 8 seed, but the difference between 5 and 10 is so small that the next two weeks will be significant.

The last win DID NOT secure Minnesota a spot in the NCAA Tournament. I still had them out by a hair after the win against Michigan. This win probably has them as a 9-seed, but I'll have to wait until later to get the latest data to run through my bracketology predictor algorithm to know for sure. Smile At least now the Gophers have a cushion ahead of some other bubble teams—Creighton will probably have to make a big Big East Tournament run and the Big 12 teams after Baylor & Texas will probably have to beat one of those two to overtake the Gophers (unless the Gophers flop and lose to Illinois, etc).

Well you're no Charlie Creme. You're not even pilight.

Wasn't it your early call that they were WNIT-bound?

Gophers are on pace to win about (if not at least) 12 games, and my 13-14 was assuming that Purdue & Nebraska would be irrelevant this year, and the Gophers wouldn't beat Maryland, otherwise I'd be more conservative Smile. PS: My formula is still better than pilight's.
