There's obviously an affirmative action push for women in the HoopHall.

Smith, Thompson and Holdsclaw are deserving. Ceal Barry's credentials seem like thin gruel to me. I've never heard of Rose Marie Battaglia, but her coaching record is impressive.

Now, assistant coaches. They raise some issues. Should they even be candidates? I think that's debatable, but I suppose that Rubicon has now been crossed. Given that it has, Chris Dailey's credentials are light years ahead of any other assistant's, as I said in the WNBA forum thread.

Mickie DeMoss? Let me approach her induction this way. Why not Frances Warlick instead? Warlick was a better player, an assistant for a longer time at Tennessee than DeMoss, and her head coaching record is much more successful than DeMoss's.

HOLLY FOR THE HOOPHALL!!! . . . based on the DeMoss precedent.

And Dailey and DeMoss are not. We'll now see the WBHOF in a political correctness crisis and scramble mode.

The three players Smith, Thompson, and Holdsclaw all deserve to be in. As far as assistant coaches. DeMoss was certainly a part of the success at Tennessee like Dailey at UConn.

They are now, or at least they will be after the formal induction ceremony in June.

Sorry, I was confused. I thought this topic was about induction into the Naismith HOF. I misread the OP link.
