So, how upset would Shades be if Minnesota not only traded Howard instead of keeping her, like Nerd2 said, but got no players back in return or not even a first round draft choice.....hmmmm....inquiring minds want to know! Confused

Eh, what the hell do I know anyway?

Has anyone seen Olivia Epoupa play? Also, why does the Lynx overseas tracker include Kateřina Elhotová?

Hmmm. Interesting. The Lynx traded Natasha Howard for only a 2nd round draft pick to Seattle. That obviously means the Lynx had no use for Howard on the bench anymore because they are signing Lynetta Kizer.

If the Storm have a better draft pick next year than the Lynx, the Lynx can swap picks with them.

I was thinking that the "pop the champagne" might have been a reference to Langhorne (you know, Cristal, and all). But if that was it she would have been part of the trade, wouldn't she?

If minnesota finishes better than Seattle, they can take Seattle's first round pick in exchange for their own. Betting on playoff seeding basically.

No guarantees on how good that pick will be next season. Gonna miss Howard.

They signed Elhotova a couple of years ago, then she got pregnant and never showed up. So they presumably still hold her rights. Epoupa's a tiny little speedy point guard. The likely successor to Dumerc at PG for France.

The Howard move wasn't what the champagne referred to, by the way.

Saw her once. Tiny. Fierce. Can shoot a little. Hope others have seen her multiple times and can give a more detailed accounting.

Has Reeve turned into Curt Miller? What’s with all the sudden love of the draft and rookies? Maybe she believed Megdal’s mock draft and thought she could actually get Mercedes Russell at #17. I hope it’s the case that Howard wanted to leave and this was the best she could do. If SEA really stinks (and that’s less likely now), I suppose it makes next year’s draft more interesting. But I really wanted to win #5 this year. Hopefully the Kizer rumor is true.

So you're saying there's a chance it could still be Langhorne Wink.

The Howard trade would make sense if they brought in a top quality veteran post. Double down on another Championship this year and hope for an underperforming Storm team to provide a building block for the future.

Like you said she is a tiny fast fierce PG who can hit the midrange jumper off the pick&roll. She is young though and her play reflects that. She needs to learn when to look for her own shot and when its time to involve others some more.

A bit like Alexis Peterson but with a little bit more upside IMO

You were hoping for Langhorne? I think that’d be better short term.

Who knows. This was a gamble trade and we’ll have to wait and see how it pans out. The Lynx gambled like this in 2010 and it should have paid off but it didn’t really since they ended up with Amber Harris. Confused

Um, yeah, it was, at least here. The champagne wasn't for Lynx fans.

Good moves for the Lynx. I like Miyem s game.

She is an interesting get. But Minnesota still needs another guard.

With Richyyy's cryptic response to "pop the champagne" I was hoping she would be who it was referring to. Less likely now, but still some Lloyd Christmas hope going on.
