Pederson has been a really good 'glue' player - just doesn't show statistically but yeah, teams need players like that. George is obviously different and no, she's not going to be the player that makes or breaks the team so that's an exaggeration. But then neither was Pederson. This writer looks to have an Aussie bias which probably explains the 'excitement' over this signing. If Tuck can stay healthy, I think she can be the glue player for them. Anyway it is just a matter of adding some depth which is good, especially since they have had known injury problems with the bigs.

Yeah, Pedersen & George are very different types of players, so picking one over the other needs to consider the expected role rather than just a simple "who's better?"
I agree about the Aussie bias factor too. Personally I think assessing George based on her WNBA career to date is more meaningful than trying to extrapolate from what she does in the WNBL. The opponents she faces down here are quite different.

Hard to argue that she wouldn’t be more useful than the #21(?) pick in the short term, but is she better than (supposedly retiring) Pedersen or other options that could be available as UFA? |
I think a known quantity is 90% likely to be better than a random #21 pick. |
And to be honest, I don’t think Miller has exhibited an ability to be a late pick gem spotter. What’s the lowest pick he’s ever kept?

And their were times George looked decent. I think it depends on the matchup. Playing against 2nd string centers, she's ok. |
There were times this past season Pedersen looked the best I’ve ever seen her. So the question remains is George that much better than Pedersen to make the huge difference this author is talking about? He already showed delusion with that first comment I highlighted. |
We’ll see. Miller is good at making players play better than they have in the past (J Thomas, A Thomas, Stricklen, C Williams, and yes, Pedersen looked better last year than her prior years in the WNBA.

Sounds like the Connecticut Sun will be bringing back a player today.

According to Shades, Nerd2 doesn't know anything so I guess we'll have to wait and see, right?

Doubtful. I’m sure it’s one of the three from last year. Kizer, Pedersen or Adams.

I don't think Nerd necessarily meant a player that played last season.._________________

It’s Griffin, Romero and Laney. Griffin and Laney played with Banham in Australia. Griffin is a lot like Pedersen so this means Pedersen isn’t coming back. I know nothing about Laney.

I already said that lol. Well, Griffin is a Pedersen clone so she’ll take over Pedersen’s role off the bench. I guess this means Pedersen actually is retiring. Didn’t Griffin and Laney both play with Banham in Australia this season? Maybe Coach Miller told Banham to work on Griffin. Haha

I'm happy to see Griffin back. She's a really nice glue player. And I thought Laney had potential but hard to see how she makes this team. This team will be DEEP. Should be exciting for the fans.
