Spahn will play tonight.

Injury report
With Bianca Cuevas-Moore still out for the year with an ACL injury, South Carolina cannot be described as totally healthy, but the Gamecocks are as healed up as they’ve been in quite some time.

Staley announced Sunday that redshirt senior guard Lindsey Spann will play against Mississippi State after sitting out the last four games with a knee injury. Spann had previously missed five other games earlier this season with another knee injury.

That means USC will dress 11 players to compete against the Bulldogs, the first time it has done that since it played Auburn on Jan. 11, nearly four weeks ago.

She busted UConn’s championship dreams last year.

IMO, this is the final hurdle for Mississippi State. This the one team they can't seem to beat.....and they have a great shot to do it tonight. South Carolina doesn't have the guards or the 3 point shooting to keep this one close, IMO. Vivians could go off. I think Wilson will neutralize McCowan.

S Car has be beaten by N Dame, Tenn and UConn & they haven't beaten anyone at the level of the latter two. In addition they are playing at Miss St, a team that has a payback incentive. All that adds up to a possible beat down.

On the other hand, a) the loss to N Dame was in a Thanksgiving tournament very early in the season, b) the loss to Tenn was without Wilson and c) UConn is just that good.

I expect a close game. S Car isn't as bad as they looked against UConn, Miss St doesn't have the back court of N Dame and Wilson will play. The key to the game is whether Wilson or McCowan gets into foul trouble.

Take the points.

And what of the psyche of our friend ConwayGamecock? The poor dude, despite being defending National Champ, has pulled his yearly post-UConn loss disappearance. I fear if SC loses tonight, he may jump this time.

She also busted Baylor’s dream of a Final Four. Wreaking all kind of havoc in last year’s tournament.

Despite her performance against Baylor she will be only remembered for that one shot. Dent was the MVP of the 1978 world series but is only remembered for that popup home run over the green monster.

I hope that doesn't mean someone has to die for her to go off like a cannon.

That first quarter was a good demonstration of how McCowan is gong to look against WNBA-level rim runners and ball screens if she enters the draft this season.

McCowan just doesn't seem to want the ball. Maybe she isn't WNBA ready?

At the half:

38 of the 57 points coming from 2 players.

Miss St with 10 more shots, mostly due to a 2-9 edge in TO's.

Vivians with 15 shots, mostly created off her dribbling.

To be honest , ive actually never seen McCowan make a post move. I cant even recall a drop step. Its always a put back or a chippy in front of the basketball off of an offensive rebound. Embarassed

I seriously get sick of listening to Debbie Monotone Antonelli , Someone needs to tell ESPN to keep her on SEC coverage , she annoys me.

Bibby also could be called for illegal screens about 6 times. She slides her feet every time.
