Queenie may be a little too pumped for Iona's possible first win to start the new weekly thread.

Iona is up against Saint Peter's at halftime 25-23.

Queenie was supposed to start it yesterday but had failure stuck all over her.

I am, in fact, at the Hynes right now! And Iona is leading!

(And St. John's is losing. GOD FUCKING DAMNIT JOHNNIES IF YOU GET SWEPT BY PROVIDENCE I SWEAR TO FUCK)

It's a little too early to get too excited about Iona leading by 2 at the half. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how many times the Gaels have led at the half this season?

Answer in ten minutes.

And in miscellaneous other games, Duke is leading Pitt 27-15 two minutes before 1st half ends. Appears likely Duke will break 50 pts, but not by much. Fugly game - Duke w/10 TO's, Pitt with 8. Expecting both to break 20.

I have Tennessee on the TV down by 11 and Iona on the computer up by 11.

IT HAPPENED! which is good because WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU ST. JOHN'S

Seton Hall at least answered going down 20 with a 20-point run of their own, and it's nip and tuck in Omaha (somewhere in middle America).

Fordham's in a tight one at George Mason. I imagine the rebounding is intense.

Green Bay reversed the script in the 4th outscoring IUPUI 19-6 to rally for a 52-45 win.

Duke win 58-46. Game was tied and Pitt actually led in the 4th Q. Both teams with 18 TO's each. Definition of fugly game. Duke shot 38% to Pitt's 32%. Pitt had plenty of wide open three's from the corner but couldn't hit them.

For the second time this season Creighton beats Seton Hall by 17 points.

BUT

This time the final was 81-64

in Overtime

The Blue Jays crapped all over the Pirates 17-0 in the OT after playing them even for 40 minutes. Creighton is now in position to grab a 4th bid for the Big East, if the conference can get one. St John's loss to Providence may have been the nail in the coffin for them.

Colorado surprising No. 17 Oregon State in Boulder. Buffs lead 38-37 at the half. Mya Hollingshed leads CU with 14 points including 4-of-5 from deep.

I saw the final and thought it was a typo at first when it said overtime after it.

Marquette (8-1) and DePaul (7-2) are a bit of ahead of the field at this point with their big game tomorrow night, Creighton and Villanova next at 7-4 and 4 teams are bunched at 5-6 - Butler, St. John's Seton Hall and Georgetown. It could be a big battle to avoid the 7th and 8th seeds and having an extra game in the Big East Tournament.

Oregon State 86 Colorado 71 F Beavers drain 13 treys. Kat Tudor led OSU with 23 points. Buffs' freshman Mya Hollingshed netted 22 points.

Tough season from a win-loss perspective, but I'm impressed with Coach J.R. Payne's initial freshman class.

I thought when IUPUI left the Summit that they would be able to steal one from Green Bay in league play. Hope to see another matchup between these two teams in the Horizon League Tourney.

And in a "scream game" at the Convo Center (it was the first of 3 "Duke Dog Reading Days" so kiddos under 12 got in free), JMU beat College of Charleston 67-53. It was a balanced scoring attack, with 4 Dukes in double figures, led by Lexie Barrier with 13. Kayla Cooper-Williams was notable on the defensive end also, not only with a double-double (10 pos., 12 rebounds) but a nice little block party with 5. Logan Reynolds contributed to the annoyance factor with 5 steals. JMU now stands alone atop the CAA, 9-0.

Close first half in Brooklyn, and then FDU took over in the third quarter to finish a 61-49 win at LIU. pssssst, Blackbirds, DeAngelique Waithe can't do it all by herself- 24 points and 10 rebounds, but no other LIU player with more than nine points or four rebounds.

Great morning game between St Louis and Fordham. Fordham was playing without G'mrice Davis but was still able to run out to a 14 point lead at halftime in Missouri. The Billikens composed themselves at halftime and made a great comeback to force overtime. In the first overtime St Louis scored the first 4 points but Fordham fought back to force a second OT. Unfortunately the Rams lost Johanna Klug to fouls late in the OT, and along with Davis out that proved too much of an obstacle. St Louis wins 91-85 in 2OT.

Redshirt freshman Breanna Cavanaugh scored a career high 37 points for Fordham. Madison Gits had 34 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and Jackie Kempf added 21points and 9 assists for St Louis.
