Only 4 teams to bring in the new year as undefeated:
Connecticut, Louisville, Mississippi St, and Tennessee

That would be an interesting Final Four

Worth noting that D-III Amherst (the Mammoths) remain undefeated. I believe their streak dates back to last season.

There are 7 undefeated D-II teams: Carson-Newman, Ashland, Augustana, Virginia St, West Texas A&M, North Alabama, and Indiana (PA).

And 11 D-III teams: Hope, Bowdoin, Amherst, Wartburg, Muhlenberg, Marietta, Juniata, Wisc-Oshkosh, Old Westbury, Castleton, RIT.

Bowdoin has the highest avg. margin of victory of any DI-II-III school, at 40.8 pts. They play Amherst at the end of Jan.

Undefeateds down to three.

With Louisville playing UConn, we are certain to drop to, at most, two.

Could we end the regular season with two undefeated teams?

Mississippi State's two biggest tests are Tennessee and South Carolina which they are projected to win with probability 66% and 77% respectively. Then don't forget playing at Missouri where they are expected to win with probability 81% but that still almost a 1 in 5 chance of a stumble.

Their favored in every game but only a 41% chance they run the table (assuming they win all the others.)

Connecticut's three remaining challenges are Texas South Carolina and Louisville. UConn expected to win each one but that's not the same as winning all three.

I think Miss St's biggest test may well be TAMU. Hillsman is more than a match for McCowan, and if Carter goes off for 30+ points while Vivians is a no-show again, Miss St could end up with a loss.

Interesting.

Massey's assessment of the game at TAMU is curiously identical to his assessment of Mississippi State's chances at Kentucky — 94% in each case. Not quite 100 of course but darn close. Which is slightly surprising, because I share your assessment that I'd be much more worried about TAMU than KY.

Interesting that you assume it will be UConn beating Louisville. Or is there some other reason you neglected to mention Louisville's biggest remaining obstacles?

Louisville got tripped up by Florida St 50-49.

Only Connecticut and Mississippi St remain undefeated.
