ND may be shorthanded, but certainly aren't slowing their pace.

They're also showing that it's dangerous to press ND. You try to trap them in the back court and they'll find open players behind the defense for easy layups.

Nice start for the Irish. Lead 20-7 at the first media timeout after shooting 8/10.

Not very intense or tricky presses though. Notre Dame not having any difficulty breaking them so far.

ND has been playing more zone D. I assume it's to keep from wearing out the short roster.

A lot of turnovers for ND after the fast start (4 in the last 4 minutes of the quarter). They are still shooting 10/13 from the field.

Pretty stunning that a walk-on was put in the game with 7 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. The Irish depth is sorely lacking.

Notre Dame very sloppy in the first half of the 3rd quarter. 6 turnovers and only 4 shots. Finally scored just before the break on a 3 by Arike.

GT scored 9 straight to start the half, but ND answered with seven straight and still leads by 28.

Irish prevail 77-54. An uninspiring second half.

With all of ND's injuries and just seven scholarship players healthy and available, it does not matter how ND plays, IMHO, as long as the team wins.

This team reminds of Duke's 2004-2005 team. Alana Beard, Iciss Tillis, and Vicki Krapohl graduated, Brittney Hunter transferred, and Lindsey Harding was out for the year. Then Caitlin Howe got injured again, leaving Duke with eight scholarship players, three of whom were freshmen.

Duke slowed down tempo and basically went with defense and manufactured enough points to win. The team went 30-5, making the Elite Eight before losing to LSU (Temeka Johnson, Semione Augustus, and Sylvia Fowles) by ten points, in a game that was tied at the half.

Muffet McGraw can get this team to the Elite Eight with just seven players. She is that good of a coach. And she is good enough to get this team to the Final Four.

They were up by 30 at the half. They only have seven players. I'm not remotely concerned if they let up some in the second half, in fact I consider it pretty natural under those circumstances.

The first half was a thing of beauty, total domination on both ends of the court.
