So far this season, it's a two player race. In this first post, I'll just list #'s 1-3 plus the asterisked players from last season.

Laksa's 10 yesterday gave her total a whopping boost. But the fact she's played two less games than KMitch still makes it pretty impressive. And it's not like SFU's games are going to get much tougher...other than UConn of course.

Laksa shot 11-12 from three last night. That's 91.7%
She had two teammates who shot 100% from three (4-4, 3-3) on the same night.

The team was 21-31 from three.

The record for most 3pt makes in a season is 129 by Brianna Butler of Syracuse in 2016. Mitchell and Laksa will shatter that at their current paces.

The season record for most 3pt makes per game is 4.5 by Lisa McMullen of Alabama State in 1991. Laksa is currently at 4.9.

Mitchell and Laksa are #1 and 2 in 3FGA:

Mitchell: 55-135 = 40.7%
Laksa: 57-128 = 44.5%

The leader in 3FG% is UConn's Kia Nurse at 29-52 = 55.8%

Top 10 as of January 7. We've got some new players. Interesting names. Some real shorties, especially given height inflation. Only two seniors. Two players from Idaho.

Calloway hit 19 in two games last week. If she keeps up that pace, she'll run away with the title. OTOH, her nickname is Streaky Keke for a reason...

I'll post updates for the race on February 1, but in the meantime wanted to report the gigantic story about which there has been a conspiracy of silence.

In Ohio State's loss to Maryland on January 20, Kelsey Mitchell broke Laura Malernee Ciamacco's All-Division record for most career three-point makes of 441, which she set from 2008-11 at West Liberty, a Division II school near Wheeling, West Virginia.

Mitchell as of today has 449 for her career.
