JMU had a miserable Sunday afternoon against Dayton, shooting a hideous 26% and losing 84-52. Kamiah Smalls had 22 points, but honestly, if someone doesn't find a 3-point shot, and if the girls don't learn to defend against 3s better, we are in for a very long season.....

From the City of Brotherly Love, Villanova extends their undefeated season beating crosstown rival LaSalle, 76-49. On the other hand, St Joseph's started out 5-0 but is on its way to losing its sixth straight to Princeton (in Florida), down 39-27 in the 3rd qtr.

Decent shooting but Coppin State is turrible. Excited to see how she does against top caliber teams- which with B1G starting, she won't see again until the NCAAs.

you go girl. you can do it. you can do it. you can do it. take a deep breath. go within. then yell at the top of your lungs. no problem. [ if all else fails, there's earplugs]

oh, oh. SJU loses to Buffalo. Now I'm worried about Queenie.

JMU finished out their OOC schedule with a romp over Bryant University (where? Oh, Smithfield, RI...I didn't know either!), 67-36. Probably a good thing they scheduled this one to get their moxie back, as they hadn't been playing well, but they looked more like themselves today. Passing was crisp and rebounding was good (53 total, 28 offensive with 19 second-chance points) but shooting percentage still not good at 34%.

Bryant is a team that can't get out of its own way. They have 3 good players, all pipsqueak guards, one of whom is a bit of a thug (she managed to get an both unsportsmanlike conduct foul and a technical. one in each half...if that tells you anything). It's very hard to play against a team like that and get anywhere because they can't get out of your way either. I thought our girls did pretty well, all things considered.

At the half Natalie Butler is carrying G Mason on her back against her former AAC opponent Houston. Butler has a virtually unconscious 26pts and 12rb's. Despite Butler's efforts Houston leads at the half 44-39

Northern Iowa has played one of the toughest schedules in the country and was 3-7 record (including a DII win) going into Manhattan Kansas tonight.

Northern Iowa 72 Kansas St 71 FINAL

Despite the 4-7 record, NIU is the favorite in the Missouri Valley.
