That is way too harsh. First San Diego is not that bad a team and playing in San Diego is tough for anyone. Second, the Big 10 still looks like it will get at least 5 teams in the NCAA. Only Ohio St and Maryland appear head and shoulders above the pack. I think Iowa, Michigan, Rutgers, Minnesota and Michigan St are fighting for 3 or perhaps 4 slots, with Northwestern, Nebraska, Penn St and Purdue outside chances. The Gophers live by the three, which means if they shoot 2-15 from 3 they can lose games they might otherwise win, but it also means they can upset Maryland or Ohio St if they get hot, and that is what gets you in.
