61-30 at the half, Nared with 20 points. The game is a track meet with the outcome to be decided by whether the officials award the game to Tenn before everyone in an orange uniform falls in a heap gasping for breath.

105-39 at the end of the 3rd qtr. Interestingly, Tenn is winning the track meet without the aid of the officials, and the game has gotten pretty sloppy which is favoring Tenn's size and talent.

I never thought I'd see a Tennessee team score 129 pts.
7 players, nearly 8, in double digit scoring.

Amazing what Tenn can do when they all share the ball, isn't it? 131-69 final.

Granted, this was a cupcake opponent, but I think it was good for morale for Tenn to finally put a real beatdown on someone. There were a couple of pleasant surprises...the first being the play of Green and KK, and the other being how much the team's conditioning has improved.

Her court vision and passing are exceptional. I can't wait to see how she does against some decent opponents. I'm sure there will be some bumps in the road with all the inexperience on this team, but this season should be a big improvement over the last few.

And 73 rebounds.
The LV's would dominate the Sunbelt Conference.

And probably a few others, but I don't think that's their primary aspiration. Very Happy

I think Tenn has a good chance to win. Texas sans Holmes is a much easier match up.

Massey lists Texas as only a 2.5 pt. favorite.

If you were able to watch some of the game you would see why it wasn't much of an accomplishment. The average time of Troy's possessions was about 5 seconds, the time it took to get the ball into the front court. And as fast as they pushed on offense they were that slow getting back on defense, so many of those assists were passes by one LV to another who scored an unopposed layup without a single defender back on defense. If Troy had hit 50% of their 3's instead of under 20% they still would have lost by 30+. It looked to me that they wanted Tenn to score quickly so they could get back on offense, as if the team that shot the most wins. Add to that the fact that Troy is a tiny team. At times Tenn so dominated the boards at both ends that you would think that Caine and Anosike were still playing.

The Texas game will be quite different.

Are you sure? Seems to me Texas has at least as much to prove. They haven't played anyone yet either.

I remember when Tennessee and it's fans used to take pride in playing a difficult OOC schedule.

Things sure have changed.

I don't know if you caught the comments about the Troy coach last night. She has apparently stated that she recruits players who can run, create offense, and rebound, and doesn't care if they can play defense or not. Her recruiting plan seems to have been very successful, and if they could shoot as well, they might be dangerous. I think they'll run a lot of teams into the ground this season.

This Tenn fan isn't happy about this schedule, but concedes maybe it isn't a bad thing given this team's inexperience. I'll be awfully unhappy, however, if someone gets injured during one of these cupcake free-for-alls.

Tenn could win the game. I merely meant that the Texas game will be a contest as opposed to the Troy game. You are right about the scheduling. But at least Texas has a starting team that has played together against some quality teams, even though those were last year. Tenn is starting 2 freshman and their 4 man bench includes 3 1st year players.

I'd say that Tenn has a tougher schedule than Texas going forward. Lots of questions and a few touted freshmen. Westbrook vs McCarty should be interesting along with Russell V White. It's too bad Holmes isn't available but I want to see Boothe. She may be a diamond in the rough or she may just be another "Diamond".
