FSU will start small and have Chatrice White come off the bench.

Cheryl Reeve attended the FSU shootaround today.

Iowa made 14 consecutive baskets to end the 1st quarter. FSU currently leads 39-38. FSU has no answer for Gustafson early.

FSU up by 4 with 3 mins to go

Iowa started out scorching hot hitting 14 consecutive shots in the first Q. You knew that wouldn't continue, and by mid second Q FSU took the lead.

Have to love these BTN announcers at halftime. Michigan lost to Notre Dame just because it was a cold shooting night. Not even a suggestion that having better athletes in their faces playing defense might have been a contributing factor.

FSU down 12 in the 4th. Gustafson sdestroying the noles in the paint.

Chatrice White has been a disappointment.

FSU will drop their 1st game of the season.

FSU and Iowa tied with :45 to go, and then FSU’s Wright hits a 3 at :36.

Might have been a little premature with that prediction.

FSU up 3 with 36 seconds to go after Wright nails a huge 3.

Iowa hits a 3, fouls FSU, who makes 1 of 2. 3-point lead for FSU, but Iowa has the ball.

This season's FSU team doesn't seem to me to have as deep a pool of talent as some recent classes.

You have to stop Thomas, and Wright can get hot, but it seems there were more good players a couple of years ago.

They will still be good, but maybe not quite as good as Bulgak's last year.

That's just sort of my early impression.

I definitely think Iowa rises in the ranks despite the one point loss.

Probably, but will they hit 15 straight again, especially on the road?

AJ Alix is a very key addition. She seems an adept point guard.

But I agree. Depth is an issue. Last years senior class was phenomenal and replacing them in one year would be difficult. Sue does have a great crew coming in next season.

This was a pretty good game. I flipped back and forth between it and the Ole Miss-MTSU game because FSU comes to JMU Sunday for what I expect will be a beatdown, but I wanted to see what they looked like anyway. Chatrice White looks a lot like our Kelly Koshuta but I think Kelly may actually be a little quicker, just lacking the experience. I did note that Chatrice seems to have dropped at least 25 lbs. since getting to FSU and is a few steps faster. However, we have no answer for Shakayla Thomas *sigh*

I am glad we aren't playing Iowa this year....unless we make it to the NCAA, then who knows..... No answer for Gustafson. Yikes!

Eye's on Shaq maybe ? She could possibly still be on the board around the end of 1st round.

Reeve's got a history of hitting up the warm states in the interest of "scouting", so hopefully it's nothing more than that. Thomas is a great college player (and unfortunately she killed it in this game), but I'm not seeing her game translating to the next level. A 5'11 PF who doesn't shoot the three. Sounds a little like Gabby, but Gabby was the athleticism to make a cleaner transition. Thomas seems like project to me at a position they don't have to worry about... backing up Maya. Thomas is not on the top of my list, but there could be worse picks, like Greenwell.

Oh, and I just noticed Thomas has two assists in 7 games. Maybe she'll be up to 10 assists by the time the season is over.

Gabbys Athleticism gets her a pass ? Shakayla is a Dunker with freak of nature hops . Her shot is better than gabby's , if you ask me they are both in the same boat. Gabby gets the extra nod because she's a Huskie though. She will be WNBA ready , Thomas might have more of an adjustment period in the beginning but i think she has WNBA Talent . Reminds me of a smaller Becky Brunson with the style of play.
