I'm sitting right near the basket and I would call at least half of Gabby's defensive wizardry as getting away with fouls on bigger players.

Megan Walker picks an opportune time to find her shooting touch. 3 huge 3's for CT.

That was a bogus foul (#2) on Stevens. She jumped straight up and the shooter jumped into her. That baseline ref has made every foul call on UConn. Most were good calls but a lot of UCLA defensive arm grabs are being "missed" at the other end.

West coast bias I guess. Very Happy

The Bruins are doing a great job defensively except that Uconn is making it's there's. The Hussies are clogging the lane to Jordin and Monique have little to no room to operate.

I've seen Ucomn get away with a lot underneath especially by Collier and Williams especially in the first quarter.

Looks like UCLA has abandoned their up and down style for the MissSt "use 28 seconds of the clock every possession" slowdown game. It may be strategically correct but it is not a very exciting thing to watch.

Kobe and family are here.

I've seen a few WNBA coaches and GMs. They seem to be having.a reunion near the student section at the half. Essence Carson is also here. Strangely, Sadie Edwards from USC is talking to Fred Williams.

Walker subbing in for Williams gave UConn a huge and unexpected (to me) offensive boost.

Walker and Collier are like two Larry Talbots who finally found wolfbane in Pauley.

Jordin Canadas Body language very sucky this game and its hurting her team. She needs to continue to be aggressive and not let her individual performance dictate the teams mindset. UCLA did not believe they could win and it shows.

Poor UCLA. It just seems like they can't move in the paint or penetrate in the lane. It's as if UConn is playing 7 vs. 5 on defense.

As mediocre as UConn's half court game has been this season, UCLA's this game has been bad. Slowdown isn't UCLA's style. And in the 3rd period their defense started to break down, giving UConn lots of lanes to the basket.

I don't know that an up tempo style would have been much more effective but at least they would be playing to their strength. Instead they tried to play to UConn's weakness.

I think UCLA has hit the side of backboard more than they've made shots tonight. Shocked

Disappointed. Was hoping for a more competitive and interesting game this this turned out to be.

Wonder how much Williams impressed the pro scouts in this game. She played well on defense and the boards, but didn't stand out offensively.

Not mentioned on this thread was the most obvious. Cori Close could not compete with Geno.

Talent wise, this is a wonderful team she has assembled but they looked completely leaderless.

And once again UConn was outscored in the 4th period.

Horrors! Shocked
