I'd wager it's at least 50/50 right now that LVFO will trade down, some kind of two for one trade, my money is on Chicago. Just an early hunch.

Does chicago really need another front court player that bad?

I wonder if he wants anyone from the Liberty? #1 pick to New York for Stokes, Rodgers & the #10 pick?

There'll be rumours galore up to (and beyond) the moment the pick is announced, but there's no way Laimbeer gives up the #1 without a superstar back in return. Wilson might not be a dead cert absolute star like some #1s, but she's gonna be very good, at the top of a very good draft class. Even when you suck as much as SAS/LV?, you don't give that up for bits and pieces.

Does anyone really think Plum will ever be better than a healthy Moriah Jefferson?

She could be. I've been in the "Jefferson is overrated" camp all along.

Shocking.

His history of underrating UConn guards, most notably Bird, is well-known.

No, no, no.... if Laimbeer screws this up, he might as well hang up the "Gone Fishing" sign.

I'm guessing he's going to be happy to not have to deal with the inconsistency of those two.

I'm sure trader Bill will look into trades but really drafting Wilson #1 and a big wing left on the board at #13 (Vivians, S. Thomas, Atkins, Nared, Nurse) and things look a lot better for Vegas (even if they don't break up Plum and Jefferson but if Vegas does make a trade I'm think it is one of those two not the pick.)

So

Jefferson/Colson
Plum/A. Montgomery or Holmes
McBride/#13 (Vivians, Nared, S. Thomas, Atkins, Nurse)/Hamby
#1 Wilson/Dos Santos/Burdick
Harrison/Alexander

Even if you keep Plum and Jefferson with McBride sliding to the 2 you don't need to play them together very often, and you can put a larger wing or guard on the floor most of the time to pair with them.

Works for me. I'm not sure that LV would want a player who will be 32 next season who is not exactly a "coaches player." Plus, LV's biggest need is in the post, not on the wing.

I never thought of Wilson as a center in the W. Better off at the 4 like Tina Charles.

Does chicago really need another front court player that bad?

Jessica Breland is their starting 4 still

Yes and their starting 2 and 3 are copper and quigley with aging Cappie and hooper backing them up, why give up two lottery picks that will bolster your roster for just one. They are also adding Coates to the front court.

Quigley just had 16.4 PPG on 63% TS and Copper looked fine after Young was traded. Dolson hasn't shown the ability to share the court with another 5 and Breland is clearly the weak link in that starting lineup (and PF is the most stacked position league-wide to boot). I agree they shouldn't be trading those picks to trade up, but they certainly need a player like Wilson.

Is Wilson good enough (and Chicago already deep enough) that you'd trade 3+4 for 1?

Vegas has enough bits and pieces, but they don't have a franchise player. Wilson would be that franchise player.

If by "franchise player" you mean take-charge one-woman-show a la Angel or Delle Donne, then no.

She's another quality piece.

Given LV's desperate need for a star quality big, I can't see any chance they would trade that #1 pick for anything anyone would ever be willing to offer.

So she's like Nneka? Sounds pretty good to me.

Sounds good to me too. Which is why I find the likelihood of them trading that pick to be very low.

Wilson is also a perfect fit with the roster LV already has.
