Yes, it's going to be ugly. (And extremely painful if, like me, you are a Terps fan.)

Maybe the terps play with a little fight in them . Losing Destiny Slocum will show to be a huge blow for Brenda Frese , Kaila Charles though should show some promise.

It's not that the Terps won't give it their all, it's just that I know they will be over-matched size-wise, and I believe they are over-matched talent-wise, plus it's a fact that they are over-matched experience-wise.

Exactly; like Stanford, they'll get better as the season progresses, but this could be an ugly week for the Terps.

I remember saying last year that they are a tall team on the average, and it looks like that hasn't really changed.

Does anybody think that Stephanie Jones will become just as good if not better than her sister?

Kiah Gillespie is gone from Turtleland. I watched her break Katie Lou's scoring record, which broke Breanna Stewart's scoring record, at the HoopHall Classic.

Gone not to flowers but to the Seminoles. Good for her and a coach named Sue.

I had this exact same thought referring to Stephanie then quickly disregarded it ! Aja will eat her or breakfast , lunch , dinner and brunch ! Same could possibly be said for Brionna also !

Lindsey Spann has scouted what , about Half this Maryland team? She's never been this wide open.

It'd be easy to guess no, but last year was her Major Knee recovery year. And what lil' Sis doesn't wanna try to keep up with Big Sis?

I imagine once Christinaki becomes eligible for the Terps, they will become much more effective as a team. I'm assuming that she will be available after the first 9 gms for MD, since that's how many she played for Florida last season before quitting them? One interesting dynamic for tonight's game is the match-up against the Terp's Ieshia Small, who initially chose Baylor over Dawn Staley and USC during her recruitment, then transferred out of Baylor after 2 yrs.

Maryland has some talent, although it is young. Both teams return only 2 starters from last season. They handled Albany with little trouble in their lone exhibition game, winning 91-58, but only shot 37.3% from the field, which is pretty bad considering the competition, and also a bit of a head-scratcher considering six Terps scored in double-digits, which usually means the entire team had an easy time scoring against their opponent. 37.3% does not translate into an easy time, though.....

Kaila Charles will be depended on to carry the load i believe. Still not sold on iesha being a leader shes too much shot 1st at a low rate in my opinion.

A'ja Wilson, Alexis Jennings, Doniyah Cliney, Lindsey Spann and Tyasha Harris are starting 5 for USC, same as for their season opener....

Kaila Charles, Stephanie Jones, Blair Watson, Kristen Confroy, and Channise Lewis the starters for MD.....

Well the season is officially underway. Brenda has done her first live locker room performance.

I've waited months for that. Rolling Eyes

Cocks look better to me than ever. I realize the opponent sucks, but it seems like Dawn took some offense classes over the summer.

some people seem to think that yelling at your teammates is necessary to be a good 'leader'.

ESPN is in mid-season form I see. It's only the second quarter and the game has already become an afterthought to the "and how did you spend your summer vacation" interview.

Another season of "Game? What game?"

Who even is calling this game? One of them's quieter than the background noise.

The Wilson hook in full effect, could be called every time. And always goes left.

Pretty sure Allisha Gray was the quiet one we could barley hear.

When Maryland was in the ACC and playing UNC or Duke the contact that is sending Wilson to the line wouldn't have drawn a whistle.

Not sure what you mean. The Cocks have had 3-pt shooters equal to Spann the last 2 years at least.
