The MSU Spartans have the first season-ending injury of the new season on the first day of practice!

http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/w-baskbl/spec-rel/100417aaa.html

Oct. 4, 2017
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women’s basketball freshman Claire Hendrickson suffered a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in her right knee, during the Spartans’ first official practice of the season on Monday. The injury was revealed and surgery will be performed later this week. She will miss the entire season.

The typical recovery time is 4-6 months.

This is the second ACL injury for Hendrickson, as she previously tore her left ACL and MCL during the 2016 season when she was a junior at Wyoming High School.

Hendrickson, a 5-11 guard from Wyoming, Michigan, was a standout recruit from the Grand Rapids area.

I don't want to hear it. I'm going to plug my ears and cover my eyes and pray for no more injuries. (kinda like Congress does about gun control)

Morgan Rich is out for Oklahoma with a torn ACL. She's had a tough go of it. She went to Kentucky for a semester, was suspended from participating in Big Blue Madness, then transferred before playing a game. After she completed her redshirt, she struggled to make the rotation, only playing three games.

True frosh Mimi Ried is out with an ACL at Ole Miss while teammate and vagabond Chrishae Rowe is not practicing with the team while dealing with Family issues and there is uncertainty as to if and when she will rejoin the Rebs.

The long and winding road.....she was Pac12 frosh of the year in 13-14 for the PreGraves Ducks. Kelly dismissed her and she transferred to Kentucky where she never played a game and was then dismissed by MM. sat out a year at Ole Miss and then played in 10 games last season before seeing her time limited fdue to health reasons.

At least when Mariah Strickland sojourned from place to place she actually made it on the court.

If she can manage to parlay her basketball skills into a degree, well, good for her.

lol She was not Pac-12 frosh of the year. Ole Miss just made that up. All-Freshman team yes, but not Freshman of the Year.

I don't know any Oregon people....what do you know?? I can only imagine. It's sad when a kid has so much potential but they can't get it going cuz of 'self' problems.

It actually took a lot of balls (pun intended) for Graves to fire her. Some of these kids think they are so good they are beyond the rules. He just shook his finger and said 'not on my watch young whippersnapper.' I give him respect for doing that.

Just FYI...don't know what it is in your world, but the most familiar abbreviation for "transfer", I think, is "Tx". At least in mine, maybe in some others. I could be wrong though.

Eternati Willock, sophomore F, has been dismissed from the Kansas State team by coach Jeff Mittie. This is her second offense; she was suspended last spring after being arrested for criminal trespass and underage ossession of liquor. No word on what she did this time.

Montana’s Kayleigh Valley sustained a season-ending knee injury for the second year in a row. Guesses are that she may retire from basketball.

Supposed to hear this week, I believe.
The NCAA came back with some more questions.
Right now, no one knows what they'll decide.

It would unbelievable if she gets to play. What's her hardship, she didn't win enough? Oh, boo hoo. Sit your butt down a year like everybody else.

“I had no issue with Nebraska,” Shepard said. “Ultimately it came down to what I wanted to accomplish in college and the next level. Nebraska just wasn’t the place to get me there.”

Why did you go to Nebraska in the first place?
They were an elite club under Yori, weren't they?
Regret having a part in her departure?
Why didn't you leave right away like Romeo?
Take several seats, Shepard.

Hey Rumplestiltskin, while you were sleeping, the NCAA began handing out waivers like Halloween candy.

I understand it, though. She's now at Notre Dame so you consider it your sworn duty to troll her.

Talented player and was curious to see her lead the young Jayhawks. Might be a long season in Lawrence.
