The Fever will have essentially gotten Nat Williams and Coretta Brown for nothing. The original trade was for Sylvia Crawley and Gwen Jackson. Crawley is long gone, and SASS traded Jackson for Williams. Now Indy could (and IMO should) get Williams for nothing, leaving SASS with not even an indirect remnant of the trade.

One of the most one-sided trades the league has seen.

I was thinking about that. Could SASS be holding out for someone to express an interest in her? If they waive her they get nothing. If they sign her, they can force a team to trade for her. I'm not sure what her last contract was, ($) but I get the feeling it was pretty high.
I'd love to have her here in Indy too.

The sad thing is that Indy have never really taken advantage of this lopsided trade. Nat Williams has provided a couple of good years but Indy hasn't made the playoffs since the trade.

When Indy traded Gwen for Nat, I thought it was a bad idea. I wanted Indy to gow slowly and I felt that Gwen would be incredible in a couple years. On the bright side, Nat's knees have held up a lot better than I thought they would.
Indy's problem has been coaching. Nell had to go, but they went from bad to worse.
I think the Fever will do better than Pilight has predicted, but his scenario is quite realistic.

Neither have the Stars (Starzz), since trading Nat away to Indy. At Utah, they made the playoffs the 2 previous seasons.

Is Nat Williams the key?
