The main takeaway here is that Shades is slipping. I was under the impression that he was contractually obligated to bring up Romero when applicable and never waste a chance to take a shot at Curt Miller. |
I don't work for anybody, unlike someone who diverts traffic for website hits.
What's the dig on Romero? Didn't take enough shots? She had 6 assists. Drafting Romero was an idea stolen from the basement, so if he wants to steal from the best, I can't really blame him.
Again, clarifying a trade to people who thought it was an even Gray for JJones trade isn't exactly taking a shot. He's big enough to own up to the truth. Well, maybe not that big.
Also, somebody else has been just as critical if not more towards Miller. But I guess his criticism is more subtle or flies under the radar since it's not in the spotlight. Maybe he needs to bring back more flamboyant words like "atrocious". |
I enjoy it when you criticize Miller so I was looking forward to it and then felt deprived.
No dig on Romero. You just happen to bring her up a lot since favoring her getting drafted higher.
There are no ads on the site and Mo runs it completely at her own expense so hits don't matter. I would copy and paste stuff, but keeping the blog formatting seems better.

Another big game from Zahui: 7-8 from two and 6-6 from FT for 20 pts, 11 reb. Those are team highs. |
And again, remember what awhom111 said. She's competeing against "kids" and stuff. Czech league is no measure at all. Wait for euroleague. |
Um she did pretty good in the Euroleague last season against some pretty solid WNBA posts |
I would expect her do reasonably well in EuroLeague again, although there will not be the direct comparison of her outplaying her teammate in Williams. The main issue with USK Prague domestic league numbers is that you are never sure how hard they are trying or what kinds of rotations they are using especially once EuroLeague starts and they begin to rest players for that. |

This seemed too important to wait until tomorrow. Diamond DeShields debuted with 29 points on 16 field goal attempts and added 7 rebounds in 36 minutes in a 78-69 win. |

Yes, I'd say that is well worth a special mention.

Good for Diamond. She clearly has the talent and work ethic to be a great wnba basketball player.I love Diamond's combination of size.speed, skill and athleticism. She's a legit two-way player.I believe DD will be top 3 at her position for the next 12 years. But it's just one game, lets see how her season in Turkey plays out.

awhom111, is Cukurova a brand new team that's spending a fair bit of money in their first season, or a re-named version of some team we should recognise from previous Turkish seasons? And as an off-shoot of that, are they in European competition or just the Turkish league? |

They bought and relocated Girne University's spot from last season. No European competition for them although they seem reasonably ambitious, but they should definitely just be trying to avoid relegation this season. |

Zahui's team USK Praha rolls over Lokomotiva 127-32, Zahui supplying 25 pts (8-16 from two, 9-11 FT), 9 reb. If you're following Romero... 12 pts, 8 ast
USK Praha is undefeated at 5-0

In hindsight, I'm kind of glad I didn't go... Doesn't sound like a great time...

Hasn't Praha won like seven straight Czech league titles?
I'm pretty sure they were completely dominant long before Zahui arrived.

I guess they dominate by knowing which players to pick up.

Really doesn't matter why. Reality is they'd be winning by 50 with or without Zahui. They were dominating before she arrived and will be dominating after she's gone.

EuroLeague:
http://www.womensbasketball247.com/2017/10/euroleague-round-1-october-11th/
Jolene Anderson did make it to Turkey and actually played quite well given how late she arrived. There appear to be no issues for the EuroCup and I have not heard any issues in Men's Basketball.
The Turkish position is that Nadezhda was told what they would have to do (go to a Turkish embassy or consulate in Russia), but they were unwilling to do so in part because of logistical difficulties. The actually put up a decent fight against Fenerbahce with only 7 players. |
