Less about a book I've read but rather books I'm going to read.

Last night I went to an interview/signing with author Craig Johnson, the writer of the Longmire mysteries.

Great time.

I have one of those, but haven't gotten around to reading it yet. My partner is from Wyoming, so I am intrigued by the setting.

Have you seen the TV series?

Just finished The Persian Pickle Club by Sandra Dallas. I found it mildly interesting, but didn't care much for the way the story ended.

I haven't. I'm not sure I even realized it was a series. Is it worth finding to watch?

It is fantastic. The first three seasons aired on A&E, then they canceled it. Netflix picked it up and aired Seasons 4 and 5, with the sixth and final season set to begin streaming soon.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out. I read mysteries all of the time, but don't watch that many.

Just saw this thread, and thought I'd share.

Some books I've read this year:

Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage by Haruki Murakami
A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
The Son by Jo Nesbo
She Came to Stay by Simone de Beauvoir
The City and the Pillar by Gore Vidal
American Gods by Neil Gaiman
Raising Stony Mayhall by Daryl Gregory

Currently reading The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood and A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry.

Evicted by Matthew Desmond. Fascinating read, I'm on my second time through the book. It is about homelessness and poverty in Milwaukee from observations made about 10 years ago since publication (2016).

I finished the Jean Flowers mystery novel "Cancelled By Murder". It was okay but doesn't really make me want to continue with the series.

Speaking of which... aren't sex toys, vibrators, and dildos illegal in Alabama (for some reason)? Surprised
