I don't understand this award. It makes much more sense to me as an award that a player can only win once.

This year Bird had four times the votes of anyone else this, but hadn't won since 2011. What made her sportsmanship so much better this year?

Nothing. It’s a stupid award, like the 6th person is a stupid award. Given out just to try and keep the WNBA in the headlines.

I suppose we could name some players who don't aspire to this award.

I'm probably the only person in North America who didn't know that the first winner of this award was Haixia Zheng.
