I love that Kobe's twitter post called his daughter's shot a "Diana Taurasi stroke."
It's small, but using a woman as a reference (instead of, say, Curry) is sign of growth for the game.

Taurasi is part of his Mamba crew. Otherwise it'd be impressive.

It would be nice if more female players looked to females as their role models, or at least mentioned them when asked who they model their games after. It'd be a sign of progress, that these players are actually paying attention to the professional class they eventually want to join. It still seems far more common that you hear Kobe, Steph, Durant or whomever rather than Taurasi, Parker, Jackson etc. |
