True, but it could depend on what role they will play. Could they be included to help transition and help with tone of selfless basketball. The trouble with some of those names is that they are not all team first and USA has already experienced some of them.

Thanks to Hungary, there's not much to talk about when it comes to Chicago:

Jessica Breland
Adut Bulgak, Foreign
Kahleah Copper
Stefanie Dolson
Makayla Epps
Bashaara Graves
Amber Harris
Jordan Hooper
Cheyenne Parker
Cappie Pondexter
Allie Quigley, Foreign
Courtney Vandersloot, Foreign

Dolson will get an invite and that's it.

I suppose Atlanta will get invites for the their two All Stars. Technically, I think Hayes could still play for the United States because of some oddities in the differences between 3x3 and 5x5, but realistically neither side is likely to make that happen. If Sykes won ROY, could she get a surprise courtesy invite?

Matee Ajavon
Imani Boyette
Layshia Clarendon
Damiris Dantas, Foreign
Tiffany Hayes, Foreign
Bria Holmes
Sancho Lyttle, Foreign
Aneika Henry, Foreign
Brittney Sykes
Elizabeth Williams
Tamera Young

Only two 2016 Olympians missing from the invite list. Tamika Catchings, who retired, and Angel McCoughtry

Tiffany Hayes? I thought she already played for Azerbaijan, which would eliminate her from consideration for the national team, right?

They would never be playing the he same position for USA that's a stupid comment, I don think Williams is known for her range, but I would have picked her over Tuck and Collier.

Is there a rule where a national team hasn't played in worlds or Olympics as that could be it but yeah seems strange about Hayes.

So it looks like even with Staley they are going with EDD over Parker.

Ditto above they are not the same players. Love Williams but she is going up against Stewart Laughing Agree she is better than Collier but she will have the same problem.

Glad to see Gray on the list, don't get Wiese Shocked was hoping we would trade her along with Williams.

I don't think it's all that surprising that Parker isn't there. I figured when she was left off the Olympic team, she most likely wasn't going to make any others from then on.

Why is Wiese there? Laughing

For starters! I would've expected the two Thomas' before their teammates of Tuck and Williams. Glad to see Chelsea, Skylar, and Layshia invited, though whether any of them makes the national team is the question Confused

Thomas really doesn't have a position IMO, kinda like a bull in a china shop and she is going up against the plethora of paint players all ready vested, J Thomas has upped her 3 pt % this year but career is not very good but then again neither is Williams Laughing

Whalen has never been a good 3 pt shooter but that never stopped her from being invited. J Thomas is also a good ball handler and defender.

They needed more guards who can handle the ball so that is why they took Plum. At this point i wouldnt want Sykes (or Gray for that matter) anywhere near team USA. Let her learn how to share the ball next season first with Angel being back

I dont get why Wiese on this team. Take Jasmine Thomas who has been shooting better and can do other things aswell.

Allie Quigley is Hungarian btw so she cant be selected.
