12/3 Eastern Michigan

12/10 at San Diego
12/13 Cal Poly
12/22 UC-Riverside

How much are they spending on team travel? I mean...fly to Rhode Island (Providence or Boston), then fly home. Week and a half later fly to Vegas and then home...or maybe go directly from there to Chapel Hill, NC and then home. A week later yet another flight to the East Coast to play at Georgetown...maybe then flying directly from there to San Diego? Or do they return to Minneapolis and then fly out to San Diego. That is seriously a lot of travel in the non-conference schedule.

Hopefully the players get to keep their frequent flyer miles.

INC the bright side, you get PAC 12 Faves, UCLA. On the downside...Marist and Princeton aren't what they were recently. Bela Alaire could change that for the Tigers...but that's a pretty....uninspired schedule.

I guess I'm one to talk once I see Colorado's schedule--but Northern Colorado and Wyoming had decent seasons last year. There's not a lot of options for teams in Colorado for local matchups....

Oh, I wasn't talking about the lack of inspiration (though it's... not a great schedule)- just the number of early starts. Season opener will probably be a day game too. Even the weekend games are 1s instead of 2s.

I'm hyped for the UCLA swing, though- plan on seeing them both at SHU and Fordham.

Both Mich and Minn - one game they were forced to play by the conference, and the rest .......

Mich gets George Mason and then the ODU/liberty winner in the NIT. If things go as expected, they would then have to beat Louisville, and if they upset Walz, then Oregon to win the tourney. So maybe they will get one good team out of it. (BTW, they don't play GMU twice in a row. That Nov 10 game listed on their schedule is the first round NIT matchup.)

Is it just me, or do schedules seem to be getting even worse than usual this year?

Other than off to Cancun and Las Vegas, the Bulldogs won't be leaving the state of Mississippi. This is a very sucky schedule for a team as experienced and well supported as Vic's squad.

Well, it's not great, but with UVA, ASU, OkSt, Ore and Syr, it's also far from the worst. Would have been nice to see one other traditionally elite team on the list, but I wouldn't call it shameful.

One would think after making a Final 4, people would be lined up to play this team and from what ive heard they were. Wonder what happned and why such the fluffiness ? Only tough game i count as a loss would be to Sabrinas ducks ~!

At least the Wolverines' schedule features a matchup of the not-quite-identical Thome twins when UM's Hallie visits Ohio's Hannah. Can you guess which one is 6'5" and which 6'1"?

Reigning National Champion South Carolina will play in the 2017 Gulf Coast Showcase (Nov. 24-26) at Germain Arena in Naples, Fla., event organizers announced Friday.

The Gamecocks are one of three 2017 NCAA Tournament participants in the eight-team field that includes ETSU, Notre Dame, Rutgers, St. John’s, USF, Washington State and Western Michigan.

South Carolina opens the bracketed tournament on Nov. 24, at 1:30 p.m. against Rutgers with either St. John’s, a WNIT Round of 16 entry last season, or Western Michigan waiting for the Gamecocks on Saturday. The bottom half of the bracket features 2017 NCAA Elite Eight finisher Notre Dame as well as NCAA participant USF and also includes ETSU and WNIT semifinalist Washington State.

All teams are guaranteed three games at the event, which concludes on Nov. 26. Fans can visit GulfCoastShowcase.com for tournament and ticket information.

The Gamecocks are still finishing up their non-conference portion of their schedule, but now with the other games already known, and with 3 gms guaranteed here for this tournament plus 16 SEC gms, they now have 25 total gms scheduled for next season. Other non-conf. games include Alabama State, Duke, UConn, Maryland, Clemson, and Temple

Why on earth is this still not done? I don't get it. When I did this for schools I was at, the schedule was done or almost entirely done by the end of April/beginning of May. Occasionally we may have been scrambling for a game into June, but certainly never scheduling games in late August for the season that was going to begin just a couple of months later. This is very, very late.

This was posted on Virginia Cavaliers' message board. Boy, the non-conference schedule is not going to be easy. I suspect that they will add few local cupcake teams like Coppin State, UMBC, Morgan State or UMES.

at Mississippi State
at Dayton
at Rutgers
Maryland
Georgia
Indiana (West Palm Invitational)
Ohio (West Palm Invitational)
Duqense (UVA Thanksgiving Tourney)
Harvard (UVA Thanksgiving Tourney)

One interesting thing about this holiday tournaments - for a long time, Virginia tends to have holiday tournament in December but this year, they moved it to thanksgiving instead.

Cheers,

R-

Stanford:

Nov. 4 UC San Diego (Ex.) Stanford, Calif.
Nov. 10 at Ohio State Columbus, Ohio
Nov. 12 vs. Connecticut Columbus, Ohio
Nov. 17 UC Riverside Stanford, Calif.
Nov. 19 CSU Bakersfield Stanford, Calif.
Nov. 23 Play4Kay Shootout Las Vegas, Nev.
Nov. 24 Play4Kay Shootout Las Vegas, Nev.
Nov. 25 Play4Kay Shootout Las Vegas, Nev.
Nov. 29 at San Francisco San Francisco, Calif.
Dec. 3 at Baylor Waco, Texas
Dec. 16 UNLV Stanford, Calif.
Dec. 18 Western Illinois Stanford, Calif.
Dec. 21 Tennessee Stanford, Calif.

Baylor, San Francisco, and Ohio State to make return trips to the farm next season! UNLV came within three of beating Oregon State and beat Southern Cal last season. Emily Clemens will be a real treat for Maples as she returns for her swansong.

I'm pretty happy with this schedule.

Hey, summertime blues, what's up with the venue change on STJ and JMU? Something happen at your place that 12/9 isn't available?

No idea, Queenie...they haven't even given us our dang season ticket notice yet! They are so woefully behind the times I can't believe it! Only thing I can think of is a "home game" of sorts for Tori Harris and Breyenne Bellerand and maybe even an "in your face" at Siena, since we recently acquired Jackie Benitez from them, although she can't play yet... I dunno.

I finally heard (on the JMU message board) that season tickets were available, even though I hadn't got my notice yet, and that the reason for the venue change on the St. John's game is the presupposition of a football playoff Rolling Eyes although that is a pretty good guess. So I went and got my tickets, and without further ado, here is our entire schedule:

2017/18 JMU Women's Basketball Schedule: - announced

11/5 CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT (ex)
11/10 RUTGERS
11/12 WAGNER
11/15 at Tennessee
11/18 ST JOSEPH'S
11/24 vs Villanova (BURLINGTON TOURNAMENT)
11/25 vs Vermont/American (BURLINGTON TOURNAMENT)
12/3 FLORIDA STATE
12/6 LIBERTY
12/9 St. John's (switched to Road Game)
12/17 at Dayton
12/21 BRYANT
12/29 at Hofstra
12/31 at Northeastern
1/5 TOWSON
1/7 DREXEL
1/12 ELON
1/19 at Charleston
1/21 at UNCW
1/26 HOFSTRA
1/28 CHARLESTON
2/2 at William & Mary
2/4 at Elon
2/9 NORTHEASTERN
2/11 at Towson
2/16 at Delaware
2/18 UNCW
2/23 at Drexel
2/25 DELAWARE
