I'm mostly seeing Loyd playing with a lot more energy. If that's because of the coaching, so be it.

I don't like how Reeve was suckered into playing her scrubs just because Klop was playing all his scrubs in the second quarter instead of just humiliating them. She lost that chess match. Reeve has them in skate-by mode instead of the dominate-mode of the first half of the season.

Yeah, great coaching for the leading COY candidate.

Just another reason why Miller is the only choice for COY. THE BEST coach in the WNBA this year by far.

Not so fast.

There's only one coach who is undefeated this season.

I called it back on the first page of this thread that the Storm would win! Damn I'm good. Time to go buy some lottery tickets tonight.

With those odds, the jackpot of those lottery games must top out at $2. Smile

Phew. I'm glad Reeve won't be getting COY this year again. The Lynx would probably win 31 games this year and win 6 straight titles if they got rid of Reeve after 2015 and had Miller as a head coach, but Minnesota fans aren't allowed to have nice things. Sad

The wheels have really fallen off for the Lynx without Whalen. Though I do believe if Brunson played all game they would have won this one.

The Lynx are perfectly capable of losing with Whalen.
Of course, the Lynx aren't doing anything to help with the problems of our country by giving people the impression that are all incapable of doing anything without their only white player.

Well, that's a new twist on the bit, I must say. Been following @PFTCommenter, lately?

So, maybe Whalen is the MVP?

By that argument, McCoughtry should get some votes.

Indeed; Catch is one of the greatest ever, and is still, somehow, underrated. She doesn't get half the credit she's owed for keeping the Fever relevant.

Absolutely not. The Lynx are just a bunch of bums who don't know how to handle minor adversity without completely folding.

There's not a ton for SEA to be proud about here. 18 offensive boards for the Lynx?

Lynx's biggest problems seemed to be creating good shots (kudos to SEA if they were a part of that) and just failing to hit their mid-range shots. Just 20-61 from 2 pt range. I guess they should have taken more three point shots?
I can't find any Reeve postgame commentary, but I'm guessing she basically said "gotta make shots."

Here's a Pierson (blue) vs Langhorne shot chart

Klop 2-0.

keep in mind that kloppi's 's.o.s.' defense is not without holes. it's had succeeded but also failed before. back in the days when bob kloppenberg ran the sonics defense, it had successes until other teams exploited it's weakness. charles barkley had said that's the easiest defense to defeat.

i flaw the lynx coaching staff for not preparing the players to handle it. they have seen it when kloppi was with the shock. so that's certainly nothing new.

The WNBA, like every other basketball league, is a make it or miss it league.

If the ball doesn't go in the hoop as much as it usually does, it's hard to win, at any level.

What the Lynx should be doing is putting even more minutes into its starters 3 weeks out from the playoffs.

X all other playoff teams

Moore - 32:32
Fowles - 35:18
Augustus - 30:56
Montgomery - 34:16
Pierson - 30:57 (!)

An awful lot of minutes already for a team that now has 4 games in 8 days with a travel day in between each, 4 more games in the next 10 days, and 2 players potentially out for all of that. But hey, don't rotate in benchies against perhaps the worst scoring bench in the league.

Holding the best team in the league to a 33.3 Fg percentage and the fewest points they've scored all season is a lot to be proud of.
