The Sky started the season 3-12 for their first 15 games and have gone on to 8-4 for their last 12.

Who would of thought that the Sky would make the playoffs after that horrible start
Sloot deserves to be on an all WNBA team |
Has Sloot missed too many games to be considered all WNBA? |
There is no minimum. In 2015 Candace Parker made All WNBA while playing only 16 games. In 2003 Lisa Leslie made 1st team All WNBA while playing only 23 games. |
But Vandersloot doesn't play for the Sparks ... |
Yeah, usually pilight is the one pointing out favoritism towards the Sparks, but lately he's been acting naive about it. |
Please don't include my quotes in your attacks. |
You weren't implying favoritism to the Sparks? Pointing out that someone seems naive to favoritism to the Sparks is hardly an attack. It's just an observation that maybe he didn't even realize before he tried to make an argument out of it. |
I just picked the most extreme examples, which naturally are Sparks. Vandersloot has missed seven games. Other players have made All WNBA missing that many or more; Brittney Griner in 2015, Seimone Augustus in 2014, Sylvia Fowles in 2012, Lauren Jackson in 2009, Lisa Leslie in 2009, Candace Parker in 2009, Lauren Jackson in 2008, Tamika Catchings in 2007, Tina Thompson in 2004, Chamique Holdsclaw in 2002, Ticha Penicheiro in 2001. It is a common occurrence.

The Sky had really good chemistry compared to SAS. 28 assists compared to 18 for SAS. Turnovers 17 to 12. Sky seemed like a whole new team compared to their last game with SAS. VJ still playing her hunches with really strange substitutions which sometimes work but do nothing for building chemistry.

Looking at raw assists doesn't always tell the story, because to get an assist the shooter has to make the basket. I've coached teams where we moved the ball really well but since no one could finish we never had any assists.
Even percentage of baskets assisted doesn't always tell the tale, because a team with a strong individual scorer, or a one-on-one player having a good night, might not have that many assists.
Overall, though, it's a good metric but I don't think you can lean on it too heavily.
