Dream are locked and loaded just in case the Liberty try anything unwise.

One would expect this game to be a grind-it-out affair.

Different year, same subpar halfcourt offense from Atlanta. If they aren't getting out in transition they're screwed

Solid rebounding effort for the Libs, very good transition defense and good offensive pace. Solid minutes from Lindsay Allen once Hartley got her second foul. And really solid minutes from Vaughn, which is a welcome change. She played within herself and did what she does well. Use her strength and go right at the rim when she had opportunities. 3 offensive rebounds, a block and much better interior defense than we've seen from her in recent weeks.

No way she comes back into the game after that one. Get her straight to the hospital. Preferably Grady.

ROTY candidate with a big play earlier, but just got burned by Prince on that move.

Tina gets away with about 17 steps ... and, game is finally put out of its misery. Nice to see Nayo getting some meaningful minutes.

21-22 from the foul line was a help. It's just never easy with this group. But then look at Minnesota struggling without their best PG. It's hard to win without a PG.

Wouldn't mind the Sparks needing to play a few overtimes tonight.

Plus side for Sunday. Bill rationed the minutes of the starters well tonight. Meanwhile LA is going 7 deep and here's their minutes dispersal in Minnesota tonight:

Gray-37 minutes
Sims-36 minutes
Nneka-36 and a half minutes
Beard-33 and a half minutes
CP3-32 minutes

The reality is that LA is probably the most difficult matchup for NY due to their length and speed. But if there's an opportunity to get one from them at home this is probably about as likely a chance as we can get to steal one. They've been on the road for a week now, they just had an emotional win in a physical game against their main rivals on the road and they've been only playing 7 players. And down the stretch tonight they were pretty gassed. To their credit, they built a big lead and held on by getting a few key defensive stops led by Beard and Nneka.

I'm disappointed we lost. Not that I care much about making the playoffs, but I would have enjoyed this thread going N pages long while the NY fans picked apart every problem with every player on their roster and questioned whether the coach was doing his job and who the GM really is...... Razz

Yep, but the rant would only be on the game thread. Next day, everybody goes on the Liberty thread, declares their undying love for Laimbeer, and then they start to figure out which games the Liberty can win to climb into 4th place.

In fact she didn't come back after that ridiculous non-call

On the plus side, she didn't look too bad on the bench. I'm guessing that she might have seen court time again if the incident had occurred earlier, or if the 5 on the floor weren't doing such a good job of eating into the deficit. Hopefully she's ok for next game, but it wouldn't surprise me if she's put on concussion watch.

I wouldn't say the non-call was ridiculous, but I thought it was worth a whistle. Once a player is elevating they need more protection than when contact is on the floor. I wonder in situations like that whether her dramatics make the refs less likely to give her the benefit of the doubt in close calls.

I was hearing great things about them about every 10 minutes during the game, so they seemed an obvious choice.

Of course. Ranting on game threads is simply to give fans of the 11 other teams something to read, since so few of them post anything. It's only on our Liberty thread that we post our true feelings. Smile

I'm biased obviously. But I really thought Z was absolutely vertical. Jumped without crossing the plane and arm straight up.

Just saw it in the re-show.

Don't know about a foul, but Hayes whacked into the thing under the basket shoulder first, really hard. I hope she is OK, it looked pretty bad to me.
