Stars will not have the worst record in league history. They could tie it but that isn't looking likely anymore.
Indiana has lost 6 of 7 and two of those were to the Stars. I would put Indiana at the bottom of the Power Rankings. Don't know what has happened. I guess they couldn't afford to lose Shenise Johnson. |
A lot of their record was a mirage even before Johnson got hurt. They scraped a couple of wins with unlikely comebacks while being terrible the majority of the time. The record's starting to normalise towards their actual quality level. |
They might end up the worst team in the league, if they aren't already. They definitely have the least talent, especially now that Johnson is out.

If the Stars have turned the corner with this win like some of you have implied, where's the rest of the 6 wins coming from that they need to surpass Indiana?

Why do people think Diamond DeShields will be a difference-maker in the WNBA?
She certainly could be a nice player at this level, and there's an outside chance she could be great, but she comes with baggage and a shaky outside shot.
Sure, she looks like a player, and does really good things once in a while, and it's possible that playing at the professional level will make her more consistent.
It's also possible that what you see is what you get, a player who's perpetually looking at greener grass and whose inconsistency is maddening.

Great win for SAS. League Pass working perfectly and fun game to watch if you are a SAS fan. Plum finally showed what she is capable of and probably a huge confidence booster for her. Harrison is the real deal and Plum made some great passes to her. I think SAS has a lot of talent and if their team chemistry continues to grow and they have everybody healthy I'm betting they are going to start winning games if VJ calms down with the wild subtitutions.

stars won? mcbride sat. ball did get to go around. not that hard to figure out. |
yeah, the ball movement was much better...but not sure if it wasn't the opponent rather than McBride's absence. I have sometimes thought, watching McBride, that she likes to go one on one (or two) a bit much, and often seems to ignore open teammates. As mentioned before, it was nice to see Plum and MoJeff working with each other and with teammates...so we will see what happens when McBride returns and the competition is a bit tougher.

Perception usually Trumps reality. DD Has been hyped since high school and it takes quite a bit to change peoples established perceptions. For example how many season now has Tenn. been overrated in the pre season rankings when it has been years since they have done anything to justify it. The same people that always expected DD to break out during her college career have just transferred that hope to her professional one. Not saying she never will but how long should you logically have expectations that have yet to happen. The WNBA is a long way off from high school. Reminds me of the Hype Tiger Woods received for years that never materialized. They kept expecting him to return to form long after it was obvious that it wasn't going to happen.
