Might as well start Mitchell & Robinson. Bench players will be Currie, George, Prince, Turner & Cannon.

DT doesn't want to get another tech? |
Or maybe she wants to see what the rest of the team will do without her or Griner. Robinson,Mitchell are the best other players. This will be a test to see what the others will do, what kind of effort will they show without Griner and DT.
Why would they try to tank? They are currently in 3rd place. Granted they will probably slip down some places but who knows what will happen with the other teams will do from here on in. Can't make assumptions at this stage.

It'd be a hell of an effort to tank from 11-7 in this league. They might need to lose out just to get into the lottery. |

Smart move by the Mercury and Taurasi. They are not going to win without Griner. And no the Mercury arent going to tank now that they are in 3rd place

Not really. They're only 3 games ahead of the 8-10 Dream.

How is it a smart move?
1) Taurasi needs more rest. Not gonna play against the Sparks or Connecticut either, the other "can't win without Griner" games
2) She'll just add more techincals
3) Taurasi might get hurt

Rest her against the Lynx and then their next game is at home against the Fever on wednesday. So that gives her a nice few days rest. It might save her a technical aswell

The All Star break is days away. If she needs that much rest at this point she can skip the ASG for rest.

Would be great if you could just hit a layup, K Mercury?

Seriously? Healthy pro athletes don't rest except in baseball, where the season is like nine months long and they play a ton. If you need to take games off when you aren't injured in a short season. . .that's lame. Seriously. Working stiffs are dropping a hundred bucks to park, get decent seats, and have a hot dog and beer, and they get treated to Phoenix without their two best players?
That is selfish. Injury is one thing, but just taking a game off. . .she needs to retire.
Glad I sold my tickets.

Lynx players don't seem to be taking this game seriously. That along with a couple ill-timed brain farts from Reeve could create a disappointing outcome to this game.

All the assumptions. What if Sandy told DT to rest for the upcoming stretch? You honestly just never know. It's good that the rest of the team is playing without those 2. This helps Turner get more Confidence, Robinson step up, etc. Especially since they have potentially 8/9 games without BG coming up.
The refs are pissing me off.

Part of me is pissed the organization allows this sort of thing, it just doesn't look good. The other side of me says, damn, this is a Jedi mind trick on Sandys part. The team is responding pretty well so far 😀

In fairness, when Gregg Popovich does stuff like this, he's a genius. |

Honestly, nobody can guard Syl that is on this team so they need to either deny her the ball and rebound or they are going to have to keep a body on her and let her score but lock down everyone else.

No. No it wasn't. Maya was in the air when DRob slid over. That means she needs to let Maya land. She didn't, so it was a blocking foul.

I find it interesting that Cayla George still isn't getting off the bench even without Griner & A. Robinson getting in foul trouble.

I seem to remember Candance Parker taking the 1st part of last season off. DT is taking 1 game off. What is the difference. I didn't see negative posts about that. Just wondering what the difference is.
