G Madison Green (Millbrook/Winchester, VA) has given a verbal to JMU. Actually she's been saying this for about a year but I think it's now formal.

5'9 combo G Diamond Bragg from Camp Hill, PA, commits to Wisconsin. She had previously committed to Georgetown, but decommitted when Natasha Adair left for Delaware. She joins Carmen Backes, a 6-1 wing from Chisago Lakes, Minnesota, and Jasmine Hale, a 5-9 guard from Glen Este, Ohio in Jonathan Tsipis' 2018 recruiting class.

In 24 days, 5 good verbals! Here I thought things might drop off a bit when Megan Duffy left.

Was the second one a verbal? Do de-commits, particularly verbal de-commits happen that often with schools who have not changed coaches?

My guess would be - yes. I doubt we hear about some, could be due to higher recruit verbal for example.

Rayah Craig commits to Duke!

5-10 guard
Scottsdale, Arizona

Prospects Nation #99
Evaluation: Craig shows the promise of offering impressive athleticism and the versatility to excel as a primary ball handler or as a wing. Down the line, Craig may develop into more of a scoring wing as her career unfolds, but she is a natural playmaker who gives options in the backcourt.

Collegiate Girls Basketball Report #142
Evaluation: Long, athletic combo-guard handles, attacks, reads pressure; elevates in mid-range game; quick-leaper with lateral quicks, defends; manufactures, smooth off the dribble, delivers in mid-range game; transfer from Desert Mountain HS and Valley Vista HS

I wondered the same thing.

But Leaonna Odom attended multiple high schools in California, yet emerged as a very good freshman in her first season at Duke.

Without knowing the reasons (new high school, parents moved, or problem child, etc.), it is hard to speculate. But yes, it initially raised an eyebrow for me.

I'm curious....why would she only be #25 on HoopGurlz? Whatever her ranking, I'm just glad the Sooners are getting somebody....their recruiting has dropped off a lot, it feels like.
