If I were Jones, I would share this award with A Thomas. She's been working hard the entire month of June.

The league overlooks the Sun because they're not winning tons of games. Fact is, Jones should have won player of the week a few weeks ago. Alyssa Thomas would have a player of the week award this season also. The league is so biased to a select few players. They honor the same few stars over and over and overlook other players that are just as good.

You guys do realize this is the WNBA? Those stars like Tina, Britt, Candace, etc. get the sh*t beat out of them almost every time they drive or touch the ball. For them to have their teams in elite positions and be putting up big stats is a testament to their talent...oh let's all play nice now and make sure little Suzie gets an ice cream too just because she's Suzie Rolling Eyes ! The point is this is a business, you produce with wins and stats. A high combo of the two is huge..Fowles would've been the league MVP in 2011 had her team been a winner but they weren't. She's putting up similar stats this year and her team is in top, I mean come on..everyone's had to put their time in. The Sun did work and Jones got her due, quit bitchin' and leave it at that.

Personally I think the player of the week should be about the player rather than the team they are on. After all it is called the POW not the team of the week. JMO

Guys and Gals if you really want to change how POW is decided, then apply for the job as the WNBA Night Janitor.

p_d_swanson ... yeah those weekly stats lists were a great reference for selecting POTW. It's a pity he stopped posting here.

I know. I used to look forward to P_D's weekly posts. Those stats helped with the debates on the board. Shame P_D abandoned us. Lol. Hope he/she is ok.

Amazing what comes a player's way when they quit playing like a lottery team and actually step it up huh?

Alyssa is thriving at the 4. Too bad there's such a logjam there when the others get healthy.

She can just play the SF the same way she plays PF. They have enough three point shooters in the other players.

I would say Alyssa Thomas was more deserving last week. Maybe a makeup call? Anyway, she's still averaging a very nice 17.5 ppg during the month of June. #POM
