| How is it that someone can become a Senator and spend as much time as they do giving speeches, and never learn how to correctly speak into a microphone. Because Sen. Warner is beyond terrible at it. Between the lip smacking and his heavy breathing, it's hard to not be distracted.

| McCain seems to be more than a little confused about what investigations are going on. It was almost painful to listen to him ask his question and Comey desperately try to explain why his question is stupid without actually calling him that...

| McCain's behavior was sad to watch. It looked like dementia to me. Did anyone else think so? Have you ever seen him so confused before? I've heard him say dumb things before, but nothing like that.

I wasn't thinking dementia, though if it were later in the day it would have raised those concerns with me (sundowning).
Rather it was like someone adjusted his medications without telling him and he was reacting badly to them.

McCain was less than coherent in today's testimony by AG Sessions, who struggled to understand some of McCain's questions.
It seems to me McCain does have some sort of mental impairment that causes him to misspeak, lose focus and ramble. It could be old age, some sort of medical condition or a side effect of medication. It's kind of sad to see. And also possibly troubling, since he's exposed to the highest level of intelligence information as a result of his committee assignments. |
