In the Turkish League (KBSL) the second Yakin Dogu (Kayla McBride and Courtney Vandersloot) vs Besiktas (Lindsey Harding, Kia Stokes, and Shavonte Zellous) game is streaming live right now at

http://www.trt.net.tr/anasayfa/canli.aspx?y=tv&k=trtturk

If it doesn't come up to the correct channel, click on "TRT Turk" in the channels list on the right side of the page.

Still in the first quarter. YD leads the series, Besiktas leads this game right now.

--------

Besiktas leads 44-38 at the half.

Entertaining, fast paced game. And contrast in styles. Yakin Dogu plays defense and relies mostly on perimeter shooting. Besiktas relies on rebounding and points in the paint.

YD came back from a ten point hole to take the lead. Then the coach took out McBride for a rest and they promptly fell behind by nine again.

_-------------

Besiktas leads by 1 at the end of 3Q.
-----------

Yakin Dogu leads by one with less than 2 minutes to go. Sloot just had a good chance to make the lead 3, but her layup rimmed out and Stokes got the rebound.

----------
Besiktas scores to take the lead, but with 25 seconds left, McBride on an in bounds play hits another jumper to take the lead, Besiktas turns the ball over, and Yakin Dogu wins 77-76. McBride finishes with 27 pts.

I think, but I'm not certain, that Besiktas is eliminated and Yakin Dogu advances to the finals.

I haven't found the other Turkish semifinal game between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray streaming anywhere on the internet.

Three minutes into the second quarter, Fenerbahce leads 33-31.

Fenerbahce also leads the series 1-0. A win today ends the semis.

--------------

Fenerbahce leads 47-41 at the half.

Fenerbahce romped in the 3rd Q 30-12 and now leads 79-57 early in the 4th.

-------

Final, Fenerbahce wins 97-73, leads series 2-0.

nice for her in the Polish league finals. I always hoped she'd make it in the W, but somehow not quite.

Indeed! I was looking forward to her playing but then she got injured before getting to suit up for the Sparks. Hopefully, she's able to make it back around to the W at some point!

Today is game 3 of the Turkish League Semis! Fener vs. Gala is at 20:00 Istanbul (1PM Eastern) on http://www.trt.net.tr/anasayfa/canli.aspx?y=tv&k=trtturk

I'm wondering if the Yakin Dogu vs. Besikitas game is on the same channel either before or after this one.

Shucks, I'll miss both but maybe someone will be able to catch them Cool

Game 3 between Yakin Dogu and Besiktas is streaming live now at

http://www.trt.net.tr/anasayfa/canli.aspx?y=tv&k=trtturk

(Same link as on Tuesday)

YD leads by 2 early in the 3rd Q.

----------

YD leads by 5 at the end of 3Q. 55-50.
Game is a little chippy. Several hard fouls, lots of complaining to officials. Zellous creamed Vandersloot into a stanchion on a fast break.

Yakin Dogu won 74-59 and moves on to the finals. Besiktas is eliminated.

This was, in the end, a textbook example of no matter where you're playing, in the end you have to be able to score. YD has more players who can shoot, can score, can create a shot, and can score from a variety of places on the court. Their bigs, especially Quanitra Hollingsworth and Angelica Robinson, played good physical defense under the basket and really made Besiktas's inside game difficult. Vandersloot had 22 and YD simply had more varied firepower on a day that McBride was cold as ice and only scored 8 (vs 26 and 27 the first two games).

The final series, which I assume will be against Fenerbahce, should be entertaining.

It's interesting in the Fenerbahce game that the Turkish TV network uses Candace Williams as the name for Parker. Even her uniform uses Parker. I guess the TV network doesn't recognize her use of her own name.

In Turkey, Yakin Dogu beat Fenerbahce again today, 73-67, to take a 2-0 lead in the championship series.

I only got a chance to see the last five minutes or so, where it seemed neither team wanted to score. I could have built a new patio with all the bricks they produced.

does 3-0 equal a sweep over there and Parker & quigley come home ? When is game 3 ?

Yep, it's best 3 of 5. Wow! Kayla and Sloot lit Fener up! Game 3 is on Friday.

Turkey:

The most interesting story of the series is Fenerbahce's president attacking YDU's president, leading to them both being suspended. YDU's president used to be on Fener's board.

I must say that in the games I've watched, Parker has been thoroughly underwhelming throughout these playoffs. It's like she's just going through the motions and collecting a paycheck. Oh, except when she's complaining to the refs (which is frequent). THEN she shows some enthusiasm.
